I'll give you a real review. I'm someone who isn't extremely triggered by DEI shit so I gave it a fair shot.
There's moments when it's alright, but it's written by modern writers who don't understand Tolkien so the dialogue is 60% trash written for imbeciles. One of the fake hobbits essentially looks at the camera and says "I'm special! I'm meant for something special!" in one scene, in a way that is obviously written by a narcissistic woman.
Dedication to retarded DEI mean they ruined scenes that are meant to be beautiful with ugly black modernity (Gil-galad has a song, which is good, and then it cuts to a crowd shot of disgusting extras). Even someone like me who didn't really mind Disa found it extremely noticeable.
I'll have a hot take and say that I overall enjoyed the art design (outside the casting of background extras), and the Galadriel and Numenor storylines were okay. I liked the Elrond/Durin storyline too. Worst storylines: human woman and black elf, and the Harfoots. I thought the art design of the Harfoots in season 1 was fun, in season 2 they are unwatchable.
It's like the worst parts of The Hobbit movies, mixed with narcissistic women occasionally writing dialogue for a YA novel. Unfortunately I hate myself, so I will watch season 3. Like the Hobbit movies, I found myself thinking 'could someone fix this in editing?'. Possibly.

Evil things can have families and desire to live in peace, because evil is defined by a willing embracing of selfish self-indulgence at the expense of others. In that way, even the orc can find a kind of peace, with family and some twisted form of low-grade civility, perhaps even semi-domestication in time (which Tolkien suggested to in some of his writings and commentary if I'm not mistaken).

Rings of Power as a TV show is dogshit, but the social media discourse around it is conducted by bad actors and illiterate pseuds whether for or against the show, because they want to politicize all media for their respective camps.

Almost impossible to and do it any justice. Wizards & Warriors did a full history of Middle-Earth and the tonal shift between the time of Morgoth and everything following the fall of Numenor is a staggering nose-dive from high fantasy to baby-babble childishness. People laud the LotR trilogy as high fantasy but it really isn't when held up beside Silmarillion, which is sweeping in scope and scale that I struggle to believe Tolkien conceived it alone.

Even as a generic fantasy show it's badly paced, nonsensical and boring.
As a LotR product it's absolutely abysmal.
As you watch, you can almost hear the writers room discussion and committee meetings in your head verytime you see something inclusive and retarded on screen.
The orcs look pretty cool and their makeup and costumes are well done, that's the only good I can say about it.
