There has been insane hoeflation since the 90s. A girl who would have been a 7/10 in the 90s is a 10/10 today. Not being fat in 2025 instantly makes a girl at least a 7/10.

I really think smart phones are the one thing that truly ruined everything. The internet and what it has become is an issue, but if it was limited to your PC at home then at least outside you'd be free from it. But the ability to take the internet on the go and have it present in life 24/7, that is what has really broken down social interactions. Things like streaming IRL etc are just cancer.

When is this established in the show? You're drifting off into fanfiction, making up things that really aren't even implied.
>he often recycles components of his outfits and his style is ten years outdated by the time of the show. like I said, he's a cosmic anomaly- not rich. that's like the entire gimmick of his character.
Just because he is frugal, or cheap, doesn't mean he's desperate or that he's worrying about money. Again, it's a Jew thing. It's like looking at Curb Your Enthusiasm and thinking Larry David isn't rich because he'll fuss over 50 bucks and wear the same shitty clothes all the time. This is how they are.

They're not blue or white collar jobs, but they are jobs. These guys had the jobs young upwardly mobile Jews in the entertainment business would have. My point is, these guys weren't close to being poor, and the characters in the show had good money.
>>214302497
It could be a possible explanation. The thing is, the show doesn't say one way or the other. Kramer's source of income is largely played off a series running gag, and it's never really implied that he's in bad need of cash. It could be he has a rent controlled apartment, or it could be (what I always assumed) that one of his get rich schemes paid off early on and he was living off the residuals.

Larry David himself lived in subsidised housing so it's pretty obvious Kramer is rent-controlled and just lives off welfare + whatever money he comes into. He's always eating Jerry's food so it's implied he's poor. Also not likely he got rich since he's too dumb to think of something like that.

Fair enough.
>Larry David himself lived in subsidised housing
But that's the thing. He did that during a short period in his life, when he was young and before he became successful. The Seinfeld show spans a decade, and the three other characters all have rather lucrative careers. While the character of Kramer might have been based on a particular person or experience to begin with, ultimately he's in a group of otherwise well moneyed Jews. It could be the show just isn't realistic, but I just assumed he was of their wealth class.
>He's always eating Jerry's food so it's implied he's poor.
I don't see that as being the implication. It's like you guys don't know Jews.
>Also not likely he got rich since he's too dumb to think of something like that.
The character is eccentric, not dumb. As the other poster put it, Kramer always fell assbackward into money. I've always assumed he was trying to do these get-rich schemes because they've worked for him before, not because he's poor and desperately needs money. If that were the case, he would probably get a job.

We've had some decent movies come out, but I'm not talking about movies or tv shows. I'm talking about the state of country. There was a glimmer of hope with Obama, but once he was in office it became clear he'd be more of the same and he didn't deliver on shit. Wages have been stagnating for years while rent, food, and goods have skyrocketed. The last time the federal minimum wage increased was 2009.

That genuine optimism and hope died long before Obama's second term. 9/11 killed the 90's, and by 2003 things had taken a dark turn. Of course, things got even worse, so those times don't look nearly as bad in retrospect, but it's been a long ride downhill since 9/11.

Before smartphones, the internet had at least a technical barrier of entry for places like 4chan; you needed a PC with an internet connection and the knowledge of where to find stuff online. Most normies only used the internet as a digital phonebook to print road maps, recipes or look up business phone numbers. In 2010, if you were shooting the shit online there was like a good chance that like 80% of the people talking with you were white, educated first worlders 18-30 something. Now that 80% has swapped to Indians and teenagers

You mean after monogamy was pushed on humanity for millennia, forcing women to cohabitate with undesirable men. And women still had affairs and reproduced with chads, which is why france and some other countries made paternity testing illegal (kek). As someone of a similar age, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about, bro. I can remember old people when I was a kid who still had black and white TVs in their home. I remember VHS and how, for all the nostalgia for it, DVDs were a fucking revelation. Consoles, computers and monitors are vastly different from when we were kids. The Internet is vastly different (if mostly for the worse) and AI is here to fuck things up good. Even the handheld vacuum I use is vastly better and different from the old Henry my mum would wheel around the house. I know shit has plateaued in the last 10-15 years, but stuff was advancing quite nicely for the first half of our lives and it was all important domestic stuff rather than rocket ships our parents would never have anything to do with.
