The chief selling point for the show is the Eunice/Mama sketches which are super fucking dark and basically revolves around Eunice (Carol Burnett), an emotionally damaged woman with a physically and emotionally abusive mother (Vicki Lawrence), who basically is Rick Sanchez tier evil in how she goes out of her way to ensure that Eunice never leaves her and remains broken so that she can keep her under her control as a slave.

Sadly they completely fucked it up when they spun it off into Mama's Family, with Mama suddenly being the good guy and Eunice a raging cunt who got what was coming to her.
