Why didn't Futurama have the same cultural impact as Family Guy, The Simpsons or even Rick and Morty?

the first 5 seasons are some of the comfiest, most kino TV ever made

I like it better than all of those things except maybe Rick & Morty, Futurama never should have been revived any "additions" only worsened it

Futurama is actually funny. Most people dont have a sense of humor. They only laugh when being told to or when others laugh first.

I rewatched it when it came back to adult swim a few years ago and noticed how flat the humor was. The show ended up being at its best when it wasn't trying to be funny.

Soulless digital animation. Too many duds like the Zoidberg mating episode or The Honking. Overly reliant on gross-out humor like the human Bender episode. Plots are too adventurous and often end with battles or the crew running away from aliens trying to kill them so it's not comfy/stakes are too high for an animated sitcom.

Futurama was to Simpsons what American Dad is to Family Guy. Superior to the original but for some reason people were set in their ways and didn't want to switch.

The first seasons are good but really held back by writer's thinking that Pamela Anderson and the Beastie Boys would still be relevant in the year 3,000. I think I also saw a payphone in the first season.

rick and morty is more impactful then family guy, i never seen toys or merch for family guy, tho i have to assume there is some small amount that exists.....somewhere at one small time period.

I think the problem with futurama is, for the most part, lack of memorable (i.e. memeable) jokes. The most famous futurama episodes among normies are usually the ones that tug at your heartstrings like the dog episode, the episode about Fry's brother, they are all effective as stories but they are about non-characters which make them not really matter to anyone but fans of the show. There are no iconic episodes comparable to early Simpsons or charming stupid jokes like Family guy does.
It's also affected by the fact that dumb people feel intimidated by sci-fi and anything related to space or high tech. I have no idea why this is but a sizeable number of people are completely repelled by sci-fi no matter how high or low concept it is. You have to make it pretty much magic so normies get into it like Rick and Morty

it's unironically too high brow for most people
yeah it has the goofy basic jokes and visual gags, but there's some overarching comedy and a tightness to the writing that flies over most peoples' heads
it also tried to do actual character arcs (albeit very simple ones or ones that would occasionally get forgotten)
famguy and morty are just turbo slop, both kneel to the power of barbatos slim
