Why would I want to think critically in my off hours? I do quite enough of that as it is. I need a break from it. That might be different for someone who's long-term unemployed, or prefers the comfort of the room in his mommy's house where he grew up over living life, but I'll have to take your word for it. Seething about commercial entertainment products is so juvenile.

Just watched Reunion for the first time.
>Worf's baby mama drops a little Worflet in his lap and then he just leaves the kid with his grandparents
Kek, based deadbeat dad. Great episode. Season 4 is amazing so far. When I watched 1 and 2 I was like, "TNG fans are crazy, these seasons are really good". Now I'm on 4 and it's so much better, every episode is like a mini motion picture kino, I understand how people don't like the early ones now. Worf's mate was great, I recognised her as the Vulcan doctor from that one episode. I was thinking she should be in the show more often then she died and I was really sad. Worf killing that fag Duras was awesome. The ending made me emotional. I hope to see more of Alexander. I remember Worf adopted some kid back in season 3 and then never mentioned him again so I don't have high hopes for Worf to be the dad that stepped up.

Alexander really was not a "bratty kid" he understandably had some issues adjust to his mother's death, a change in environment and having a shitty father. You see later on with Lwxana he is actually not just a brat and he responds well to someone who doesn't treat him like a stupid defective Klingon and a burden like Worf does. He's not dumb.

Half of the episodes are unbearable comedy skits, like the last one where apparently none of the four actors knew what a Vulcan acted like, especially egregious example being Pike acting like a fucking Conehead. After that, the remaining half are either halfway decent or blatant ripoffs. The crashed Constitution episode was just Alien(s), the last episode that came out was just Enemy Mine. It has way more potential than STD, sure, but the writers need to be kicked in the groin several times and told they get ONE comedy skit episode a season, max.

>But it DOES suck fat giant smelly cock at least every other episode.
My nigga. For me, 80/20 rule applies. 80% should be serious and thought provoking, 20% lighthearted and funny. Spread it thru the season as you see fit, but that's what you get. Make humorous go-to-credits bits, data's day, ferengi eps. Whatever. It's your vision. But you get 20% season airtime and not one beat more. There I solved SNW.

I understand where you're coming from, but I still have to disagree. Since there's only 10 episodes a season, a 1:9 ratio of funny:serious makes much more sense. In TNG, they had nearly 30 episodes a season, and roughly 3 "funny" episodes per season, the winning formula must be closer to 1:9 than 2:8. I put funny in quotations because usually the comedy was a braced by a serious A or B plot depending on how much funny they were going for.

He's only 8 here. And Gabrielle Union thought he was cute.
I liked Alexander's plot in Sons and Daughters. The way I see it he was true to himself despite Worf not accepting him for the way he was. He made his own way in life and was comfortable in his own skin even if it wasn't being the "ideal" Klingon Worf always forced upon him. So in the end he overcame Worf's utter shit parenting and became his own person well adjusted enough to roll with the punches of being different and laughed at. Even though the others didn't take him seriously he didn't take it as bad as someone like Worf would have who always came off as insecure especially when it came to other Klingons. tl;dr I ended up respecting Alexander more than I ever respected Worf

DS9 had Louise Fletcher, Tony Todd, Jonathan Banks, Paul Dooley, James Cromwell, Clint Howard, Iggy Pop, Vanessa Williams, Kurtwood Smith, Steven Berkoff, Wallace Shawn, and probably others I'm forgetting. And a few of them had important characters, not just one-offs.

BSG is one of those shows where it was great in the moment due to cultural zeitgeist stuff but after the fact it isn't that special. And unlike Star Trek, which has a ton of replayability, BSG doesn't really have any of that. If you know what's going to happen, it's just meh.
