yea its fucked up.
so i've actually met max landis and studied this situation alot.
basically what happened was. he was like the first "celebrity screen writer". he was like a multi millionare and sole like 20 scripts by the time he was like 21 or something.
he was also like a really weird kid growing up, like had like behavioural issues, like that one realyl weird kid who was kind of gifted but also constantly made scenes, was socially abrasive, and cried alot, that was him.
so THAT guy became rich and famous.
so he started dating women and being kind of shitty to them, nothing illegal, nothing that made him a monster, and to be fair, they were like aspiring actresses and also kind of shitty to him too.
but their relationships would not work out, there would be hurt feelings, and he would still be a multi millionare celebrity screen writer and she would be still some no body aspiring actress.
so several of these ex girlfriends met up and agreed to conspire and make up a bunch of fake accusations of him being sexually inappropriate, and there was literally no proof as to any of it other then that a group of women is saying this, and max landis got so quickly expunged from hollywood that he literally wound up in a psyche ward on suicide watch because of how much it traumatized him.
also, you know justin long's charector in the horror movie "Barbarian"?
its very blatently a thinly veiled parody of max landis.
