I have always refused to watch the Avatar movies because "durrrr CGI slop blue cat aliens".
I finally watched them both yesterday and HOLLY SHIT THIS IS KINO.
Be honest with me Avatarbros, is Eywa some sort of AI designed to protect the Na'vi? I feel like this is where the story is going for some reasons.

I'm going to be honest. I had no idea a THIRD one was about to be released. The first one was talked about so much everyone knew it existed. Cameron is a human-hating cuck and it has been leaked ages ago that Eva is indeed a alien space magic supercomputer and the blue furries are just pretending to be retarded indigenous people but are actually le super smart people who live in le HARMONY with nature and that's why they decided to larp as space indians. Let it be a lesson to you chud that you should return to monkey and give all you own to the abbos or some shit.

I think movie 4 or 5 will be about finding Eva and owning toxic masculinity or something I don't know, i stopped watching when i learned the humans didn't just glass the navi villages from orbit when they came back around.

The Way of Water goes on 3D rerelease next month. Get your ticket while you can. I think the first is better paced and more self-contained, but the Way of Water is magical in its own way, and takes its time and really allows you to linger in that world and really enjoy all the atmosphere. It's like an otherworldly holiday, then the final hour is a relentless action masterclass.

>The first movie made sense in cinemas because it was a new kind of 3D
There were like 3-4 years of digital 3D movies in the years before Avatar came out. I saw many of them including Beowulf, Coraline, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Meet the Robinsons, The Final Destination. None of them were close to the financial success of Avatar.

There were very good 3D movies in the 1950s with very good 3D. None of them were close to the success of Avatar.

Avatar succeeded on its own terms, because it's an exceptional movie. An engaging movie, a well-acted movie, a well-crafted movie, a thrilling movie from start to finish. The same is true of the sequel. 3D only adds to it, enhances and intensifies it. But it isn't the make or break of it. Avatar would have been a gigantic, colossal success with or without 3D.

The RDA just got pissed that the Na'vi didn't want them to bulldoze the forest, kill the animals and their habitat, and mine the metal which is again against Eywa's laws. Coraline is very sophisticated in its use of 3D,, absolutely flawless on a technical level, and really ramps up where it counts. Journey to the Center of the Earth has excellent 3D. So does 1950s titles like Creature from the Black Lagoon and Inferno. There are Imax documentaries from the 1990s and early 2000s with far better 3D than Avatar.

Avatar is just that unique and compelling a film. It's pure shock and awe.

You're not allowed to demonstrate its failures or shortcomings. Or that some people living in a paradise taken care of by a God being wouldn't need or want capitalism. Everyone is supposed to want to wageslave and buy the latest plastic shit! Good sci-fi.

Not annoying when the 3D is amazing.
For the record, Avatar works perfectly fine without 3D, and is mind-blowingly good with 3D.

Great 3D isn't about making you forget that you're wearing the glasses, it's about showing you why it's worth wearing the glasses.

can't domesticate savages, that's been proven more often than not.
you can only kill the aggressive ones through strict profiling and police work.

Pocahontas didn't have mechsuits, or those sunbed things that put you inside an alien.

Pocahontas also didn't end in an epic battle, it was completely the opposite.

And John Smith wasn't being used by the captain to convince the natives to move their camp so the English could extract mineral wealth.

And most importantly of all, it just doesn't go anywhere near as hard as Avatar does.

King James is always super autistic about doing the math on fictional tech. The Venture Star ISV is probably the most realistic fictional spacecraft ever put on film

On Aliens he hired an engineer who had worked at Lockheed just to make sure the APC and gunship were as realistic as possible, calculating lift mass, landing weight, speed and all that.
Anonymous No.214363318
>>214363201
The APC was not realistic kek. It was just an aircraft tug they slapped some scifi stuff onto. And it's only fit for driving on very flat surfaces since it has so little ground clearance. Still cool and unique though.

You should've caught the rerelease, you would've realised how wrong that feeling was, and how right kid you was. You just put on the 3D glasses and let it wash right over you. The film is perfection. Like being reborn.
