>Behind all the sturm and batarangs, you're just a scared little boy crying for mommy and daddy!

For a kid movie, this is a surprisingly clever little line referencing Sturm und Drang which is pretty apt for Batman. It's not le heckin' genius but you'll never see millennials write anything like this because they don't read anything besides smutslop or Reddit posts. Seriously, what went so wrong with the infantile millennial generation that literal cartoons like Johnny Bravo and Batman are more insightful and clever than supposed "prestige" films by millennials?

That's pretty based actually. Never knew what that line meant exactly.

What does it say when a kids cartoon has better writing than le heckin kinos made by millennials? Millennials don't have kids. They don't grow up. Millennials blow all their money on therapy to blabber about the most vapid and inane shit. Millennials are the ones who made manchild slop toons like Gumball. Those "fake deep" cartoons that you are referencing. Read a book already unc. Drop the "fur babies" and tell you're overweight, rapidly aging girlfriend to quit the Seroquel

The DCAU was made by the last generation of storytellers to have received a proper education in the arts before going on to make shit. Now art school isn't about drawing from a rich and varied tradition, but about how you feel and justifying yourself. This unironically was TV and later the internet rotting the brains of modern people. We deserve this.

The reason you don't see references like that these days is that people just aren't exposed to this sort of thing anymore. All everyone consumes, even the elites at the helm of culture production, is pop culture, and it becomes a neverending sea of self-referencing shallowness.

But K-On! is aimed at adult men and national socialists, it’s not a children’s cartoon.
It was printed in Manga Time Kiara, which publishes seinen (read : adult) manga.

No one did back then either. Elites and intellectuals made it to their positions and the hoi polloi just cruise on by in their mundane lives. Network tv is dying and they will make the most mindless tv possible before they go.

A German literary movement. Some of Goethe's early works like The Sorrows of Young Werther or Schiller's The Robbers are examples of works. Basically, swashbuckling and heavy emotion as a focus

Probably comparable with the English romantic movement a little later (Byron, pre Raphaelites, etc.)

Batman should just rape the Joker, it won't kill him, it won't "make another killer" and it will mentally damage the Joker enough to not do crime again.

Batman raping the Joker is his checkmate.

Let me remind you that the answer was somewhere around the lines of
Get a clue, clowny. He has no sense of humour. He wouldn't spot a good joke even if it hit him in the face. Not that you ever had a good joke. Joy buzzers, squirting flowers... Lame! Where is the "A" material? Make a face, drop your pants, something! You only make me laugh because you're so pathetic. So you fell into a vat of acid, got your skin bleached and decided to become a comedian? What? You couldn't get a job as a rodeo clown?

Return of the Joker was PG-13. I'm not saying it's an adult movie, but there was a whole thing about it, where WB sperged out over it being too much, and had them make a censored edit.

I always remember this line, because I won a school contest because I'm the only one who remembered what "Sturm und Drang" meant from the literature classes. My German teacher gave me an A because of it.

One of the prime examples of censorship/executive meddling leading to a stronger overall product because it forced the writers to problem-solve and be more creative.

>we want to kill batgirl
>Fox says we can't show her crash-landing onto the car to her death

It'd be a lot easier if people just admitted they can like cartoons because it's literally just goofy fun. My grandpa was still cackling over Tom & Jerry when he was 92 years old
