Didn't watch yet but what do they have to complain about? They have a channel that still gets about 400-1.5 million views per vid with 1.5 mil subs after 15+ years on the platform. That is about as good as it gets platform wide. There are hundreds, probably thousands, of channels with similar sub counts that are absolutely dead. Like 10k views per video. They've long, long outlived the expected lifespan.

This is all to do with compliance to the law. Countries are beginning to introduce legislation to ban children from social media and YouTube is taking a heavy handed approach on detecting underage users and modifying the types of content they can access. They are doing this because they desperately want to avoid being categorized as a website that needs age checks to access.

If they were they'd basically lose an entire segment of potential advertisers in that 13-18 range as those users would all be forced onto YouTube kids accounts.

Google's position is logical, they're just trying to posture that they will be compliant to government legislation. On the other hand the government's position from a technology stand point is ridiculous, the only way to censor the internet for children is by not allowing them on the internet at all. It's really in the hand of parents to monitor their children, they're the only ones who can actually do anything, yet most of them are degenerate who will give them their phone and let them mindlessly scroll their Instagram algorithm just to get them to shut the fuck up for 30 minutes.

Ask those youtubers you follow what their comment count, vote count and other engagement analytics look compared to past performance.
