Seriously. The overwhelming majority of people are still at their core the same person they were in middle school and high school. Sure, they can change attitudes, beliefs, appearances, etc, but for most, that's just a shell covering up their true self. The more lucrative career for Sam is probably just what he's doing with the grifter podcast thing. He was never meant to have mainstream success. And these days, what does that even mean? MTV awards are on CBS right now, so tv is kind of meaningless anymore. What's even on adult swim these days? He has his patreon followers and he probably always will. That's probably a good living, even if he never gets the respect of people who would watch Harland or Tim and Eric or whoever else he turned off with the gorilla nest shit.

Sam flipping the table was actually the least embarrassing part of the show. Him sperging about seed oils and constantly accusing Harland of being Jewish to the point they had to restart the show four times was way more embarrassing.
The part that actually destroyed his career was when he asked Harland to tell him when he was joking and when he was being serious, which was a direct quote from Ian Jomha during his Sam Hyde documentary.

genuine MDE fans would cite fishtank's lower moments as what truly blackpilled Sam after he got back on his feet, Sam wasn't exactly killing it with The Great War type content, but Fishtank had some fairly high legal costs (and the people are a mentally mixed bag, some bad contestants, Jet going full sexpest)
The Harland incident was "bad" mostly because it released the same week as Extreme Peace (wp2) a project that was gassed up for half a decade and of the 20 or so skits maybe 4 had some real charm. Nick's reactions during the podcast also made people think at the time that Sam was BOMBING but afterwards they kind of hinted at hating this boomer industry type guy. They are already blacklisted there will never be a majorly produced movie or televised show with the 4 ever, although Eric (despite being construction God) literally deserves a chance at a real role. Eric can act, Charls as well they have some real cultivated skill in humor and timing, Sam is a great writer but his political lens removes a lot of the humor. I dont blame Sam because the blackpill just does this to jokes and humor you dont really feel like joking when your Maslow Hierarchy is sacrificed for freakshows
