Koreans tend to "mumble" because the Korean language is rich in sandhi phenomena. It's literally the French of Asian languages. Now add the fact that Korean is rather verbose for an Asian language, especially compared to Chinese which is SUPER concise and compact, and you get a lot of impatient mumbling when speaking quickly and casually. That's why Korean sounds so different when singing compared to speaking, because when singing you're not allowed to be lazy.
