What is with these retards thinking Superman isn't allowed to kill his enemies? What justice is there in letting Zod kill everyone because you're too much of a pussy to take him out?
The same retards love to say how much they hate the trope that killing a bad guy makes you as bad as him, and yet here they spew that retard argument every chance they get.

Superman 2025 was a nonstop humiliation ritual for Superman. Superman is meant to represent the apex of humanity but 2025 just shits on him nonstop, portraying him and especially his parents as borderline mentally challenged and reliant on allies and cheap tricks to defeat mediocre foes.
Snyder correctly portrayed Superman as infinitely more powerful than everyone else as it gave a symbolic heft to everything he did. Superman killing Zod was man sacrificing a part of himself for the greater good.
The pieces for Snyder were all there. He was just unable to put them together. People focus on the embarrassing plot points like muh Martha because they show a lack of refinement on his end. He knew the story he wanted to tell, and it was a good one, but he was unable to work out the details.
On the other hand, Gunn's Superman just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. There is nothing aspirational in a "super"man who admits he is no better than an average person and shows the intellect of one at best (only by comparison to the brainless populace of the movie does he seem to teeter above average). There is some honor in it, but no one dreams of being a custodian.
