This man had no redeeming qualities. Literally Barbossa is a more complex villain, so is Davy Jones

How about a "Pirates of the Mediterranean" movie? But instead of following pirates, it's from the view point of British, Spanish and Portogeuse Imperial Navies as they fight each other but also as they fuck over the Arab and Ottomon Muslim Corsairs' slave trade as well as protect European shores and civilian merchant ships from the Corsairs. Or they can do an early medieval era movie where the Byzantine Roman navy is fighting the Arab Muslim navies who are attacking civilian merchant ships and European towns and villages.

Why do you need "redeeming" qualities? As other anon's say, he is a good villain in the movies. Besides, he was probably a good guy from a business perspective. He was running a very successful spice company after all

The irony is the ship he was on was more than capable of obliterating both of the ships at the same time. Heck, the cannons on a pirate ships probably would bounce off the hull.
