Overall, I enjoyed it. There was a great idea here, but the execution of some scenes weren't the best. I feel the same way about Strange Days. Great idea but flawed execution.

It got straight to DVD "sequels" that were just random time travel movie scripts with the Butterfly Effect title slapped on in hopes it would raise sales.

In one of them the antagonist turns out to be the time traveling lead's sister who is also secretly a time traveler and wants to fuck him because he used his time travel to save her life from a house fire as a child. I don't remember if that was 3 and the woman in the picture, though.

I didn't like it for overly grimdark it was. The guy tries to kill himself before just time traveling again? It's such a monkeypaw movie. Also the whole proving he can do it to the guy in prison literally breaks the rules the movie set. Stupid. The original ending is bad, but good lord the alternate ending is worse, where he is a sentient fetus and kills himself. Writer obviously loved this idea so much they didn't bother to come up with a well written ending.

Yeah, he even put in that scene where the mom says she had multiple "miscarriages" before finally having Ashton. So we can assume his siblings had the same ability and all killed themselves in the womb too.

Alan Ritchson should continue playing Aquaman not Batman who's destined to be Ashton Kutcher imagine if Catwoman was Mila Kunis rather than a nigger that replaced this beautiful Ukrainian actress even in Wicked Witch movies and of course Superman always looks similar to the Caped Crusader in the comics so it'd be a nice opportunity to put Josh Hartnett there he was actually considered when they chose Brandon Routh Henry Cavill and even Ben Affleck over him. The Other Guys Mark Wahlberg would make for a good James Gordon while his co-star Will Ferrell would be playing Lex Luthor

I used to love this movie
Theatrical ending, not the stupid one where he strangles himself as a baby. Retarded.
One of the biggest flaws is that the scene where he stabs his hands and the wounds "appear" breaks all of the established rules. But I guess you can headcannon that sometimes his powers work differently, I mean if his mind can travel through time, why the heck not
Otherwise it's kino that teaches an important lesson: Some of us are damaged goods and should let women go rather than destroy their lives by injecting ourselves into them

Its really why I hate the alt ending. Life is so miserable and with time travel the better result is to unborn yourself? You will never know if you made life better for people around you. It's just a morbid dark ending for the sake of it. Generally not how you do story telling. The whole movie is incredibly dark and to have a dark ending just makes the journey feel pointless.

Killing himself in the womb is a shitty ending , because the very fact his father reached adulthood and never tried to kill himself as a a fetus or as a child proves that people with the time travel ability are able to overcome nihilism and seek to solve their problems.

The point of the movie is captured in the scene with his father
>that's bullshit. I'll send you a postcard after I've made everything perfect again.

The real ending is about the triumph of the human will. The story of humanity is about forcing your will onto the world around you and conquering the obstacles of the environment.

The gay, cancelled, extra-content ending is about being a nihilist , defeatist, anti-natalist cuck loser.

This is a bit different in that the entire premise is he was supposed to kill his older self to begin with. Looper's time travel rules are insanely silly though, they're more magic based. The idea that killing yourself erases the future you from coming back.... even though the future room already came back and affected your memory having seen you come back.

Looper is just dumb.

There are a few scenes that violate the time travel rules in some really egregious ways. The worst one is the stigmata scene, where he travels back in time and slams his hands on spikes as a kid and then as an adult the scars appear on his hands in real time to spook his attackers. That's simply not how the time travel works, and it brings down the movie a lot.

Another ending was after he killed himself the mom got pregnant and had a girl, and she doesn't have the ability, so they live normally.
