Rengoku was unlucky and got culled out by akaza before he could unlock the mark. Marked he would be between obanai and Muichirou considering he was more balanced than the latter (muichirou is a glass cannon while Rengoku had a more balanced kit despite being lower in dps).
Tengen’s strength was more about his versatility as shinoby rather than raw technique, so he would probably fare lower than marked Gyuu, which 11th form is an almost perfect parry.

Obanai is the weirdest one to rank, since he doesn’t go full power except in his final battle, because of his sick body.

Demon slayer is such low IQ generic slop it's not even funny. The first episode where the MC refuses to kill a demon that cares about nothing but killing people. Guy literally sits there for several hours with a rock in his hand. He sits there for so long that the sun goes up and the demon almost regenerates. Didn't run away instead, didn't ask someone else for help to kill the demon, didn't try to bind the demon or trap it in any way. Just sits there. His sister almost dies because instead of looking for her and making sure she is safe from the sun he sits there with a rock and looks at a demon for hours doing nothing.

Then episode 2 or 3. The crybaby faggot gets a wise old mentor. His first training is running through a forest and the forest is conveniently boobytrapped with millions of traps that all happen to get triggered by the MC with every step, all of them deadly enough to kill a person but all of them just happen to not do any serious harm for him. And that's his ''demon slaying'' training, to be hit by deadly traps that can't be detected or countered in any way because the ''old wise man'' built them so of course they're perfect traps that materialize out of nowhere and hit the MC exactly the way they're designed.
It's all so incredibly gay and contrived.

I tried reading the manga like that, the beginning is rough but there's an improvement at like chapter 45, it's like someone told him 'you need some structure, show the demon slayer organization, show the villains and show they're evil, stop having a crow tell the characters where to go and instead give them a reason to do something.'
it's still rushed as hell, it treats the death of a character you just met last chapter like you should be emotionally attached to them, it wants to rush to everything without building.

Also this. You shouldn't ask people who are into anime to the point at which they love the entire medium, you'll get shit like Kaguya, Konosuba, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and other shows. Rare seasonal shows made by somewhat reputable studios are your most likely candidates for things you should try. Even then, you can get a straight season of absolute garbage that no one except the most diehard anime fans will like with nothing remotely experimental with formulas and when the stuff that IS experiment happens, its never enough to recommend for non-anime fans because it doesn't seem different enough for them to act like an entry-point or likeable. But even then, you should have some idea of what you like. Recommendations are better made when you describe what you like, then people have a frame of reference.

I've grown out of anime at this point. The only thing I still watch every week is One Piece, and that's mainly just due to the sheer amount of time invested into it, and wanting to see it through.

I'm a 34yo boomer, I have an actual career, I have a wife and a kid. The older I get the more cooking and drinking I do in my spare time, but I also enjoy the outdoors and consume media. I used to watch a lot of anime in my early 20s. I think for a year or two I was watching ~20 anime every season. I stopped watching so much after finishing college. I still watch anime, like 5 a year, from directors or studios I like. There's no shame in it.

Sure, watching all that shitty derivative clichéd anime like Naruto in my early 20's wasn't the best use of my time, but I don't beat myself over it. Sometimes anime manages to bring out the kid in my heart, and that's pretty invaluable to me. Just have moderation, that's all.

I don't think there's anything wrong with watching anime every once and a while for nostalgic reasons or if you just want some mindless entertainment. From my experience with weebs though, liking anime tends to be an "all or nothing" type deal where they will exclusively watch anime and avoid everything that doesn't have to do with anime. I acknowledge that my dislike of anime partially comes from how obnoxious the fans of anime are, and how it seeming consumes every aspect of their lives, from the music they listen to, the books they read, the games they play, or even the 'lets plays' they watch with the broadcasters pretending to be anime characters. Like you said, in moderation it's not bad, but anime for whatever reason seems to really take over some peoples lives and it just leads them to an even deeper feeling of isolation.

I actually half regret getting into anime/manga back in the late 90s, 35 now.
Its made it impossible to fully connect/understand cinema even though I've grown to love/appreciate films.
I spent far far too long in my pre-teens and twenties following the same comedies and female targeted soapy adventure/dramas that it engineered me into being able to feel chick-flicky stuff more than nuanced, parred back drama as much.
Can only get off to certain types of men and women in some case too. Its frustrating.
I watch alot of exploitation and scifi movies now to try to replicate the stupid cyberpunk/gore stuff I grew up with.

there's a much higher bar for shows to clear. movies are allowed to be weirder and more thoughtful than shows because the time investment for normalfags is lesser overall. you might be able to get them to watch a movie, but asking for a 50+ episodes series is too much, especially if those 50 episodes are filled with a lot of anime inside jokes or tropes. so you need the highest quality, things that are not entrenched in anime trops, are not too long, and are either light hearted/have levity or have charm/purpose.

I see some posts mentioning naruto tier shonen shit like jujutsu kaisen that was soulessly made to milk money out of weebs. sometimes that's ok, cause it can be cool or fun too, but even uttering it in the same breath as bebop is laughable. bebop was mythical status, original DragonBall level of monumental and you are fortunate to be able to witness such a creation. anyone who says they didn't like it is lying to themselves, to be a human being capable of appreciating beauty is to appreciate Cowboy bebop. some of you will never know true passion, but you can still witness it.
I fucking hate anime, almost SOLEY because this one was too good.

Everything Satoshi Kon ever made was kino. Literally didn't have a single miss in his entire career. His untimely death is the greatest tragedy in the history of the the medium of anime. As great as Perfect Blue is however, I think that Millenium Actress is my favorite work of his. Because it's such a reflection on aging, reflection, and love, I feel like I get something new from it every time I watch it as the years pass. I also feel like his directorial prowess improved between Perfect Blue and Millenium Actress. His scene transitions are beautiful, and the way he weaves the lead's narrative with her films is just fantastic. The climactic scene where the main character is riding through all her films, and her life, one last time is one of my favorite ever put to film.

Oshii, Kon, Miyazaki, LOTGH and a few couple titles like Death Note are the only ones that are halfway decent in the realm of anime. The rest of the entire medium however is absolutely garbage and holds no esoteric value, I don't even know how you do something like that as a society. I guess it's just asian DNA or something.
