Normally you would have to at least read the books you write because you naturally read the words in the process of writing them down. This means he acquired some means of applying his ideas to paper without ever consciously knowing or acknowledging them.

No, Marenghi's work is a joke and he is supposed to be a hack who writes pulp but acts like it is anything but. The audiobooks that got released the last few years a pretty good tho.
