>You can be critical of someone without disliking them, retard
Sure, but I find it implausible that he'd have used those words while having no feelings about him one way or the other. "Asshole" and "spiteful" are pretty emotive. If he'd said something along the lines of "He's kind of an amusingly bitchy asshole", OK.
>And you said you disliked Stewart because of his politics
Partially but not entirely. For instance, he thinks of himself as kind of eternally working class because he grew up in a home with an outside toilet - when he hasn't been poor or even lived in the UK for decades (and it wasn't that unusual - my grandparents had a house like that). Another example: when he first saw an episode of Red Dwarf his initial reaction was wanting to sue the creators because he considered it a shameless rip-off of Star Trek.
And when allowed to stick his oar in he makes such brilliant contributions as "Picard should be into dune buggies suddenly" and "Picard should be into dogs suddenly". When forced to shut up and do as he's told, he's a fine actor, as I said. I've enjoyed his performances in all sorts of stuff, from I, Clavdivs on (and I see he also appeared in Civilisation - need to rewatch that soon).
>anon just described Shatner’s personality
Yeah, but he seems to be throwing shade at Shatner while pretending he doesn't feel strongly about him, which to me suggests it probably is about politics for him. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my guess. I, on the other hand (though you might disagree with me), am being honest.
