$133 month * 12months x 5 households
AU$7,980 per annum

I bought a 5k NAS in 2016, filled it with 5k worth of 10TB HDDs and its run ever since.
I share plex to my entire family and a couple mates so the PA price above should be higher
Also thats just video, I also stream pirated music.

Streaming is the meme

I automate it. Select current tv shows to download new episodes when they come out, or all movies with a 7+imdb rating via a nzb indexer script. dumps the nzb file to a folder, client then downloads and extracts to appropriate folder accessed via plex or direct SMB. assuming you are running an actual server and can pay the electric bill it's a no brainer.

My biggest cost is upgrading storage on my arrays every so years. I stick with enterprise renewed drives, keep the cost below 9$usd per TB

I just use Real Debrid + Stremio. I pay 9 dollars every 3 months, it works on all my devices and I don't have to keep any computer running.

>B-b-b-b-but what if it goes down?

Then I will watch something I want from my computer, I will go to qBittorrent, download a 10gb rip in 5 minutes, and then cast to my Living room TV.

I used to have a Plex, all the Radarr Sonarr shit, I tried Jellyfin or just hosting my own hard drive through my modem. At the end of the day I want to sit down and watch something. If I love it, or want to keep it incase something catastrophic happens, I will write it down, then download it all at once, then keep it in a hard drive.

Escape from your autism, the black hole you entered has no end.

9$ usd per TB, really? hdd's are not that cheap. Enterprise class HDDs are much more expensive.
"Don't you miss out on many shows because it's hard to keep track of the new ones?
Your 7+ IMDb rating method to filter out shows and movies is flawed because many crappy shows initially get ratings of 7 or higher, then drop down to 3 or 4. As a result, you end up with many garbage collections of movies and TV shows.
