They're so scared of "risk" with originals, meanwhile constant IP sequel remakeshit is unironically risking the solvency of the entire business model.

Plot of Heat 2 has them do one big cartel heist and then it's serial killer torturing Michael Mann's yellow fever

Basically the book reads like a parody of his work but so do his movies past Collateral

The book's biggest fault is that the villain is a boring psychopath and not a fun loose cannon like Waingro and it dwells far too much on sexual violence which was not shown in Heat at all and in turn this will fuck up the movie since you can't really have fun with these guys, just hate.
