My issue with power rangers is despite having so many shows it really had no identity which isn't helped when the show is just stitched up Japanese footage. Nothing that made it special and I think that hurt it. The original tried with "teenagers with attitude" but that was abandoned. I remember reading the comics where they crossed over with TMNT and they double down hard on how Power Rangers are just campy teenagers that keep expressing the importance of teamwork saves the day and it's the closest I ever seen to them having an identity.

The whole point of the show was to sell toys to young children. Being cool sells. Back then, and maybe now I dunno, young kids looked up to high schoolers as cool and mature. Why does Rei exist? He's never in the Kikaider live-action shows and has only appeared in the 01 OVA because he was in the manga. This guy was also supposed to have his show but I haven't found a source to verify that and I can't remember exactly where I read about that being the case.

For education purposes, watch a few episodes of Goranger, so you have an idea of how everything started.

After that, depending on which Power Ranger show you grew up with, try watching its Super Sentai version. If you grew up with MMPR watch Zyuranger, if you grew up with Wild Force watch Gaoranger, etc...

After that, as some already said: Jetman or Kakuranger are good options.
I recommend Carranger for how crazy it is, if not, Shinkenger is often a nice option. My favourite Super Sentai series is Abaranger, but I'm not sure if it is a good entry option.
