Batman. I've never read Year One (comic books are for fags), but I want to see a serious psychological thriller showing Bruce Wayne's descent into madness as the idea of dressing up like a flying rodent and PUNCHING CRIME takes shape. Think American Psycho (weird since Bale played both) with an unreliable narrator and a world that never even suspects that a millionaire playboy could be a psychopathic vigilante. I want to see his terrible early homemade costumes (yes, with hockey pads) and horrific wounds as he gradually numbs himself to all fears and pain, eventually transitioning to a full Jekyll/Hyde split personality... or so it seems, as THE BAT is ever present in Bruce's waking life, in the background, guiding his acquisition of information and technology. And again, Bale could have done this, he was both Bateman and Batman and The Machinist, and Nolan loves weird worlds, but instead we got the Dark Knight Trilogy, which was great in other ways, but in hindsight feels like a missed opportunity.

Gunn would hate it though, since it wouldn't be millennial cringe where everybody says "fuck" a lot with a boomer rock soundtrack.

I wrote a spec script called "Superman: Ascendency" which the plot involved Superman finally snapping and deciding to become a wrathful God and less a superhero who goes on a spree around the world hunting down and killing criminals without mercy, slaughtering the Justice League because he's now reached his limitless potential and it'd be peaked with Superman abandoning the Clark Kent identity for good, Superman too and just becoming the unstoppable Kal-El, with an underlying theme of how Superman as a concept should be rejected because anyone with such powers will always turn evil

I actually appreciate projects like Clayface, which seem to be going more in a horror direction, so I'd want other projects that aren't traditional superhero stories.

I know there was talks of a Sgt. Rock movie but for some fucking reason they wanted the director of Call Me By Your Name to do it. I know for a fact he'd make the movie extremely homoerotic and that'd be 100% the wrong way to go. Make a straight-forward adaptation of those old comics and you have yourself a good movie. Same thing for Kamandi, don't try to make it a traditional superhero movie, lean into it being post-apocalyptic sci-fi and Strange Adventures should be classic pulpy fun like that John Carter movie
