Book Euron: The actual anti christ
Show Euron: "A FINGER IN THE BUM"

What's most frustrating and baffling about the show adaptation is how the books themselves were already filled to the brim of absolute kino characters and moments that are extremely easy to adapt to the screen because GRRM was literally a screenwriter for years and structured his books like cliffhanger-filled adventure shows. 99% of the changes made in the show are worse dramatically and cinematically than what happens in the books, and it's not a coincidence that most of the scenes in the first five seasons that people praise the most are the ones faithfully adapted from the books.

There are countless amazing scenes we got robbed of, especially from Feast and Dance, which were fucking GUTTED by D&D because they were """boring""" and full of """filler""" as every retard normie claimed for years before they learnt to appreciate it when they saw what D&D instead.
Especially disappointed about not getting to see scenes from Feast like:
>kevan roasting the fuck out of cersei
>cersei burning the tower of the hand and jaime realising she is crazy
>okay basically cersei's entire storyline of her being a fucking nutcase and systematically destroying everything her family built for years while devolving into an unhinged drunk lesbian psycho
>jaime actually becoming honourable and cool, especially the "throw it in the fire" ending scene
>rodrick the reader being the sole example of a smart, respectable and wise ironborn
>as you said, the brilliant kingsmoot chapter
>the kino as fuck moment (and also the only major battle in all of feast) where victarian uses retard rage and kills a bunch of knights with a battle-axe during a naval battle
>euron actually being scary and creepy and intimidating like OP alluded to
>arianne's big fat brown titties
>brienne and her misfit band of adventurers being oddly wholesome
>the absolutely fucking legendary final two brienne chapters that redeem her entire storyline, where she faces off against a group of psycho rapist cannibals to defend an inn of orphan children, completely alone and outnumbered, and then after the insane cliffhanger ending with the stoneheart execution

He is way better than every other conventional villain in ASOIAF, especially the lame-ass retards Joffrey and Ramsay. Euron is actually smart and ambitious and seems to be a direct link to the real fantasy elements of the books by trying to literally raise Lovecraftian sea-monsters whereas every other villain is happy just burning villages and raping peasants.

Especially disappointing because they canonically exist in the show because in 1x4 Tyrion tells Theon "I believe your uncles were responsible" when talking about seeing the Lannister fleet burn at Lannisport, a really cool reference for book-readers back when the writers gave a fuck about the lore.

My favourite Greyjoy-adjascent scene has got to be in an Asha PoV chapter in Dance after she's been captured and she is sitting in on one of Stannis' war councils and everyone is miserable and on edge because they're trapped in a snowstorm, and the southern lords are urging Stannis to retreat, and then Stannis delivers this fucking banger response:
>We all know what my brother would do. Robert would gallop up to the gates of Winterfell alone, break them with his warhammer, and ride through the rubble to slay Roose Bolton with his left hand and the Bastard with his right. I am not Robert. But we will march, and we will free Winterfell โ€ฆ or die in the attempt.
And then the southern lords basically despair and realise they're gonna die, but the northern lords and wildmen start cheering, and even Asha admits that Stannis impressed her, and had an ironborn-like spirit.
Absolute fucking kino moment, and obviously no way the show was gonna depict it because of how much the writers hated Stannis.

>That seemed to amuse the northman. "I want to live forever in a land where summer lasts a thousand years. I want a castle in the clouds where I can look down over the world. I want to be six-and-twenty again. When I was six-and-twenty I could fight all day and fuck all night. What men want does not matter.
>"Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for the Ned's little girl than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. Feast and Dance are my favorite books but they are the ones that ultimately killed any hope of finihsing the series. With pace those books set and adding new POVs (which were great, Victarion is easily my favorite character) the series realistically needed 3 or 4 more books. Not two. I have no idea why the fatman autistically set limit of only two more books on himself. Now his legacy will be forever being a smelly fat retard who couldn't finish his magnum opus. Fuck him. Anonymous No.214645712

After season one, Tyrion became the main character. This made Stannis the bad guy because season two's climax was the Battle of Blackwater. So Stannis gets villain music. Plus he was killing wildlings, and in modern entertainment writing the wilderness-dwelling tribal people are basically always assumed to be sympathetic good guys because of American guilt over the Indians, so killing wildlings en masse kind of "feels" bad to the creatives and warrants the sinister music/editing.

Lady Stoneheart is gay. So is Ned's brother becoming an undead whatever. It's really dumb and unrealistic that there are not one but TWO people that are undead and they both happen to be Starks (Cat by marriage). Especially dumb when Bran is already a super cool magical kid.
Let's be honest the books get really stupid. This is a common problem in fantasy fiction. The author is expected to raise the stakes and make shit even cooler and it gets detached from the slow burn shit that made the first books enjoyable.
What the same thing happened in Emberverse series. Comfy books that start out with humanity returning to feudalism, a Marine becomes an unlikely warrior king, there's a SCA guy who seizes power because he's been hobbying his whole list at this shit. It's all logical and grounded. By book 6 or whatever the warrior king's kid is getting a magical sword that makes him a supergod. It's all so tiresome.

Bloodraven did that. He tried to train Euron so he could hijack his body, but then a much more promising character appeared in his visions: a boy wolf, and that's how he bid his time and waited for Bran. Bran is a greenseer AND a skinchanger. A much more rarer treat and a powerful vessel for Bloodraven. Nothing can't convince that old fucker isn't planning to commit the so called "abomination", for the Greater Good, of course.

>Biterโ€™s mouth tore free, full of blood and flesh. He spat, grinned, and sank his pointed teeth into her flesh again. This time he chewed and swallowed. He is eating me, she realized, but she had no strength left to fight him any longer. She felt as if she were floating above herself, watching the horror as if it were happening to some other woman, to some stupid girl who thought she was a knight. It will be finished soon, she told herself. Then it will not matter if he eats me.
>Biter threw back his head and opened his mouth again, howling, and stuck his tongue out at her. It was sharply pointed, dripping blood, longer than any tongue should be. Sliding from his mouth, out and out and out, red and wet and glistening, it made a hideous sight, obscene. His tongue is a foot long, Brienne thought, just before the darkness took her. Why, it looks almost like a sword.
