Streaming is the way to go, but talk show audiences tend to be elderly and not know how to use modern technology so it's hard to say if his audience would follow.

I doubt it. I never really liked Kimmel but ge was at least tolerable about ten years ago because he was just an average smart ass. I don't think firing him for comments about Kirk was right even though I disagreed with them but there seems to be a lot more to ABC's decision. This show was not pulling in significant viewership at all, just like Colbert. Kimmel's stupid commentary after the Colbert news, something akin to "they can pay us, why not him?" some how looks even dumber in hindsight.

I really this this all boils down to audiences moving away from network TV and the format of these shows. It doesn't help that they're 80 percent Trump jokes now.
