There's nothing out there for you
More movies that reinforce the fact that there is nothing out there for you.

Space is not wonderous, same with the ocean. All you have is where you are right and no amount of star gazing will change that. End your fascination with the Universe and focus on your family and homogenous community.

Dude bro went all the way to fuckin' Neptune to save humanity and rescue his daddy. His old man went nuts trying to grasp something beyond his reach. But that's the human spirit. We always reach beyond our grasp to learn the unknown. If something is 'impossible' somebody somewhere figures out how to achieve dat shit. The dad was old and insane from isolation after he merced his crew. He convinced himself that his mission was a failure. Which it was. However, he still recorded data, and he widened the scope of human understanding. So, even though he never got to give an ayya a handshake, he still contributed much to a noble endeavor. But I suppose that wasn't enough for him.

Also there would be no "rotation back to Earth after a set term" bullshit. It's PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE with our current level of technology, fuel technology/consumption, etc. which will not change by the time Musk wants to be there. It would be a one-way trip. Brad Pitt's acting is based on presence and charisma. He's not known for range or disappearing into roles. Ad Astra somehow did the impossible and almost rendered Pitt a charisma vacuum. This is because the character is so one-note, le stoic, and Pitt's performance thereby comes off almost as shallow as the film's attempts at theme.

Itยดs statistically impossible that there is no life out there anon. The problem here is that contemporary society has been demoralized and lacks the romanticism to keep hoping for that world.

Itยดs a symptom of a culture built around materialist consumerism and instant gratification. One must see past all that, into the stars and keep aiming for them. Thatยดs where dreams lay.

They're not necessarily needed down on Earth. Everything people want to make in space is far more economical using material that's already up and away from a gravity well rather than spending fuel dangerously moving it out of heavy gravity. Go mine ice and you get water for drinking, oxygen and hydrogen for fuel. Water is heavy as shit. Go mine metals for ships and stations. Go hollow out asteroids to make way stations because you always need ports to stop at on the way to places.

Probably be way harder to get food going in space than just power robots with solar. "Hard labor" for humans would also mostly just mean operating machines. Humans would be more useful as maintenance for the machines, in which case they would still be the most valuable asset there.

WRONG!!
People assume there are aliens out there because they *need* to believe in a better alternative, in some grander meaning. That's why religion exists in the first place, the need to find meaning. Believing in aliens is literally a religious belief.
And guess what? It weren't those types who elevated living conditions and progressed technology. It wasn't those who would cling onto sky daddy so their ills would go away. The pioneers of anytime were instead those who were unaccepting of their circumstances and sought to change it, without pleading for divine intervention. Those who see things for what they are, and take it upon themselves to overcome.
We would still be cave dwellers if the realist, ambitious types didn't exist.
