'Choice' becomes complicated when you look into the social programming that people are subjected to, though. You can say people have free will but we're still influenced profoundly by social propaganda and culture. It's hard to sympathise with someone who has everything going for them and still ends up being an unlikeable asshole, but consider the people who are a dealt a shitty hand from the get go and end up withdrawing from society even at an age where their sensibilities are still developing. Then they're stuck, falling deeper and deeper into a sedentary lifestyle, losing their mind on the internet. Of course, people will say that cisgendered white males are always responsible for their own actions because they have the most sociopolitical power, so whatever their life circumstances it's still completely their fault. It's kind of like that one movie where what I described happens on the screen and people discuss television and film. This post is definitely not off topic and is about kino.
