Got my weekend movies picked out.

>Lord of Illusions (1995)
Supernatural detective kino - seen it, loved it years ago.

>Cast a Deadly Spell (1991)
I understand that it's also supernatural detective kino, but of the made-for-tv variety. Fred Ward stars.

>Dead Silence (2007)
James Wan sloppa-kino, and apparently cult (critics hated it). Dislike Conjuring, love Insidious, like Malignant, so we'll see.

I've watches 18 movies thus far, a few Excellents and no Hot Garbage, with the majority being Worth a Watch. I need to inject a little genuine, reeking slopps somewhere. Maybe Zombie 3 or 4?

It's good to take a chance. I wasn't going to do Insidious ever, but then I watched them all in a week. Good stories, good family and friends stickin' together vibes, good spooks, all within a difficult PG-13 framework.

Is the Paranormal Activity series connected, or is it a new setup every time?

It seems to be. I've only ever seen 1-3, but the cast list for 4 lists a character from 1-3, and I know the daughter from 2 is in a sequel as well.
>Insidious
I've seen the first one. Maybe I'll go back to it and watch through them all. I'm still planning to watch the entire Conjuring universe when they finally stop making them.

Kinda reminds me of how the last Fatal Fury game ended, no conflict means no story. I know they're making a spin-off call "SOULM8TE" about a killer sex-robot, I guess M3GAN can fight her in the 3rd film if they're in the same universe. Anyway, time for the big question:

The only thing I liked about it is the house, it's a really spooky setting. But apart from that it's not that good, the characters and plot are underwhelming.

I know what you mean, fight games are fun and I wish was good at them, but I could probably learn to play drums faster than I could the average fighting game. At least to the level where it's fun to play ranked.

What's the point of restricting yourself to the NOW when it comes to the crystallized dreams of video? I would be equally as sclerotic as you if I confined my enoyment to the media of the 1960s, or any other decade. A beautiful girl or a beautiful story are the same forever, as long as they're captured on camera, AND watching them you get to travel in time and sample the ambience of an age so vanished . . . it might has well have played out in another dimension.
