This show was one of my guilty pleasures. The amount of times they tried to show THE SURFACE and try to make it look really cool is funny, at some point it practically becomes a joke that the director crams in.

I don't think a ship would even be able to hold its own weight being dragged like that without falling apart, much less swung like a bat.
I think a giant metal robot's fist would be capable of dealing significantly more impact than a mostly hollow ship anyhow.

I love how they explicitly show that they're rowing down a tiny little riverlet. The T-Rex could just as easily stand at the water's edge and attack them.
