I liked all the movies aside from the first one and Jason Goes To Hell, I do prefer undead Jason to the regular human one from 2,3,4 and the 2009, undead Jason is just cooler and sets him apart from most slasher killers

Hey, I'm in the middle of watching this series through for the first time. I've only watched up to Part 3, so this is an incomplete opinion, but

Part 2 jumped a bit with Jason. So he's a survivalist, outdoorsy, strong, reliable woodsman who can cross country track down the woman who killed his Mom to another state, but he never once approached his Mom and talked to her after the accident when she hangs out all the time at the lake? The first movie's whole plot is that he died so she went crazy on her crusade against useless counselors, but meanwhile, he's just watching her from the woods? "She's crazy because he died, but really, he's not dead at all." is a minor gripe, as naturally he is essential to being the Jason series that it is.

But Part 3 is by far the worst movie (so far). It plays into the most bad tropes as if trying to fill a quota. For every four tense, music-screeching, "ch-hah-hah-hah" jumpscares being absolutely nothing, there's only one real one, resulting in like 50 fake-outs and only 10 real ones in an hour and a half. It's just nonstop. Then there's Jason's weird teleporting around. He's always behind anyone at any time, but he's also ALWAYS walking into the barn EVERY TIME someone looks at the barn. I'd almost like to see a behind-the-scenes of tracking Jason's movements and watch him running in and out of the barn 80 times in an hour like a spastic dog wanting to be let outside.

Complaints aside, I'm liking F13 series more than the other big-name classic horror series that I'm watching this October.

I don't mind him being a woodsman. I even liked his use of traps because of it, like the hanging rope trap in 2. I was saying it felt like a stretch that he's like that there in those woods (and anywhere else he wants to be, like cross-country), but he never once visited his mom he has a worshipful obsession over.

To your second point about his “teleporting”, he lived off the grid and stealthily for almost a quarter-century before he started his rampage. It stands to reason that he got pretty good at getting around quickly unseen.

The earlier F13 movies did humor better too. The enchiladas toilet scene in Part 5 alone is funner than anything in Part 6. Part 6 isn't funny, the kills are tame, there's no tits, the main character is annoying, and having children at the camp and doing a fakeout of "oooh is Jason going to murder a 6 year old" not once but twice was beyond retarded. Fuck Part 6

According to the making of documentary, all the girls in part 6 refused to do nude scenes, but since part 6 was rushed as fuck to be released in time they were unable to get body doubles or re-shoot scenes to add nudity, that's why it is the only movie in the entire series without naked tits or ass, I'm not a big fan of it either, characters looking at the camera after they complain about horror movie cliches is way too cringy

It should've ended at Part 7: The New Blood

I fucking hated Jason Takes Manhattan.

Part 6 is where we see zombie Jason whose practically invincible. I miss the Jason in Parts 2, 3, and 4 where he could get kneed in the balls, knocked out with a piece of wood, or was even apprehensive of a frenzied girl with a knife.

Also I treat Parts 2, 3, and 4 as 1 big continuity. Remember they all took place within the same week. Part 3 picks up the next day after Part 2 and Part 4 within hours of Part 3. They also had my top 3 Final Girls: Ginny was smart and used psychological warfare, Chris was very resourceful, and Trish had that protective big sister vibe (look at her jumping out of the window?!).
