I've been thinking similar thoughts. I'm not an expert on the topic, but I've just thought about a couple of key principles. Who are we? Genesis says we are an image of God. Plato says we are in a cave watching shadows which are only representations (read: images) of the real things. Both have the idea that there is an idealized world of forms or divinity, and we are just dealing with a reduced version of it. And what should we do? Bible tells you to reject all false idols and only live according to God. Greek cynics said to abandon conventional desires and live a virtuous life in agreement with nature. Exactly the same thing expressed with different words.

On one hand these similarities make me question the exceptionality of judeo-christian beliefs, but at the same time they confirm each other and make me think these guys were up to something.
