Prometheus was already a reboot of Alien. And it was shit. Covenant did nothing with the idea. And anything Alien related was shoehorned on as tackily as possible. For the small amount of alien scenes, you could just feel Ridley's disgust oozing at having to put them in his android movie.

The only good things in Romulus are Spaeny and Moner being hot, and the visuals and effects and set designs and atmosphere.
It doesn't do anything new, every noteworthy thing that happens is some sort of forced callback to what another Alien movie already did. It's content to recycle and regurgitate the franchise's past at every turn instead of being its own thing
