The problem with The Substance is that they casted an old cunt instead of a hot 18 year old, but I guess there isn't any young talented actresses who would willingly go full nude for extensive amounts of time.

Watched Censor after someone mentioned it recently. Didn't like it, thought it fucking sucked actually. It does basically nothing with its premise. It's ostensibly about her spiral into madness but there's no spiral, just a dull unstylised trudge from "sane" to "a little bit odd" to "murdering the beastman because she thinks films are real". It picks up a little in the final act but ultimately it is a boring stupid film that was a waste of my time.

this series saved my October. such a low investment, can just chuck'em on anytime and be sucked in immediately without pretense or setup and not too long. the naturalistic acting from Ichikawa, Kudo and his "methods" really grow on you as characters and it always delivers the monster goods, the characters aren't afraid to confront and interact with them. this year I saw a picrel FF at a live screening. it was at a few fests but they don't plan to release it streaming so travel around doing micro screenings. Made by a filmmaking couple and their friend, about buying a run down midwest house to ghost hunt. I almost walked out because the lead actress was the most millenial quirky chungus-everything I say has to end in a wheezing laugh-woman I've ever seen. It had a strong foundation and few small memorable moments and one big one (fucking wall of harsh noise twice as loud as the movie) but also the usual flaws of low budget FF in structure and being character driven but not actually doing much with said characters. pretty polarizing it seems, some really like it. Would be worth a stream watch but can't say it's worth a journey to track down IRL

If you are alluding to Cronenberg’s worst films, then, indeed, I dislike intensely The Dead Zone and the ghastly Videodrome rigmarole. No, I do not object to soul-searching and self-revelation, but in those movies the soul, and the sins, and the sentimentality, and the journalese, hardly warrant the tedious and muddled search.

The only Godzilla of the Showa era to watch is the first, really. It all backslides into Saturday matinee territory, and the films get cheaper as the series goes on. Heisei and Millenium eras jettison the majority of Showa era lore anyway and reboot from the original Godzilla anyway. If you just want to have a few laughs or marvel at the miniature work, then the Showa movies are worth a watch.

Considering the limitations of its day it has some really cool effects (and the random horror element of no one believing you/being locked up as a crazy person against your will was also nice)

It's going to vary so much. You can get reasonable guesstimates that corn fed battery chicken V free range natural diet v free range and supplemented etc, but when you think about how broad human diet is, how varying exercise levels are, you're getting different meat
Some Like it Rare is a good horror comedy which has endless debates about the best kind of human meat, but it's making assumptions based off pork, so human meat even if well prepared is probably shit for gains. Probably most the nutrition is in the organs and bones, like most similar animals
