The CG for this movie is still unmatched and it came out almost 20 years ago.

It takes itself just seriously enough. Similar to the new Apes movies it doesn't let the fact that its characters are CGI novelties limit re them from being characters. It gives you what you want, which is a story about honour and courage and doing the right thing even if it's difficult, without tainting it with millennial cynicism.
