The last season bugs me. Alan has to gigaroid and train hard for the role, yet he denies roiding like a bitch. The character canonically does not work out yet manages to look like that. Then he runs into an even bigger guy who roids and works out, and the character insults him for it. It's just so stupid.

This show is such ass. Nobody talks like that, fights don't work like that, guns don't work like that, policing doesn't work like that, deductive reasoning doesn't work like that. All of that would be fine if it was fun but it's just fucking terrible in every way. The worst part is that Ritchson is terrible in it, genuinely godawful performance and yet he's getting fellated for it left and right.

It's extremely stiff and corny, but that's the way the books are. Alan both looks and acts the part of what the character is meant to be, technically he's like 4 inches short but close enough. He's a much better fit for it than Cruise was. I liked the first season, but the rest has been pretty dumb.
