I don't think this is true. I think they were a moderate success cause they cornered the market on gaming entertainment but then the real cash cow was RWBY. All that anime money held them afloat for years as literally every project they did failed.

I watched like 50 episodes when I was 14 and found it mildly amusing.
It's a millenial thing, back then, media based on video game familiarity was a novelty. Like all the video game web comics that was made back then.

Which is kinda innocent fun when you're a teenager, but paying money for a redvsblue bluray is like paying money for flashgames. It just wasnt all that good outside of the period of the internet it was made in.

No, seasons 11-13 were when Miles and Kerry took over. Despite Miles centering the story around his cringe ass OC, they're actually pretty decent and have a better ending than season 10 even (things really pick up after Church and Carolina get re-introduced).

Restoration came out in 2023 and was when Burnie/Matt came back to conclusively end the show while ignoring everything that came after season 13. It was barely two hours, mostly incoherent, pretty ugly and not a very satisfying ending. It also came out after Rooster Teeth went bankrupt and announced they were closing their doors, and was fittingly the last thing they ever released.

I remember thinking the episode with the chipmunk voiced deathmatch teams pointlessly killing eachother was hysterical at age 12. When I stopped watching they had just switched over to using Halo 2, so seeing clips of the anime fight scenes from later on is wild. Honestly though I would have thought they were absolutely sick if I had seen them in 2005, and I would have shown my middle school friends a low quality clip of them on my ipod video.
