Here's the thing. Hailee didn't need to take this role but she did. The social media firestorm was because the onscreen sexual chemistry. It was the black comment cheering Michael on and calling out the obvious. Hailee of course has to do media events but she (they) leaned into this and did nothing to quell the rumors. One tactic used is to ignore rumor, which she did. However, she spent an inordinate amount of time with Michael day and night. When asked about Michael she gave a canned response how great he is and learned so much and how dear a friendship they now have. When asked about her fiancee (no one never used his name) almost word for word she gave the same canned response BUT nervous and blushing with Michael hovering in the background.
Even IF there is no there there why would a soon to be married woman intimate in public there may be an intimate relationship with the guy that hired her and her sexual costar. And blush when she is asked about her fiancee when this man is with her suggesting one or both men may be bothered.
