I think he just shit the video out in a rush without really caring about it or doing any quality control. dude has a busy schedule and is probably contracted to do these youtube videos. he's not out sourcing the ingredients by himself, he has a crew do it, so he doesn't know what he's working with, he probably doesn't even know what he's cooking until he shows up to the studio. he's in between doing other stuff, doesn't give a fuck, does a single take, it's fucked, but he doesn't have time to sit around and record again, so he fucks off and they publish it anyway because they have to meet some quota for uploading videos. and then the internet, lacking any nuance or understanding of how these things are made, runs away with it and declares it proof that he can't cook.
do I think Gordon is a bit washed up, and a sell out? yeah, kind of I do. do I think he's completely incapable of making a grilled cheese because of this one video? not really.
