i don't get why the killing curse is that bad
there are countless other ways for to kill someone with magic that all seem far worse
shit the dementors eating people's souls seems worse than the killing curse

You have to "mean" the forbidden curses. So i think that implies that to use avada kedavra successfully you have to straight up be psychotic. The only two people who use it on screen to kill are voldemort and wormtail when he kills Cedric. Voldemort toys with the idea of using it on a kid when he goes to kill Harry. Real psycho shit

Yeah but im the books thats what? Bellatrix hits Sirius in the heart and he goes through the veil. Harry uses sectumsempra on Malloy without knowing what it would do. Molly hits bellatrix in the heart with her spell. Avada kedavra is terrifying because it's instant and unblockable. So again I think it comes down to being psychotic enough to use it. And we also know that everyone agrees the kiss is worse especially because at the end we see that without a soul you can't cross over, voldemort ravaged his through willfull murder, we know it's willfull because he used the murders to make the horcruxes

Think of the forbidden curses as strict liability offences.
If you even manage to cast one you’re guilty, whereas killing someone else with another spell requires a trial.

Teacher in the fourth film (David Tennant in disguise) also uses it on a spider.

A little different, you get put into Azkaban for using it on a person. And it turns out he was a psycho. Harry even describes him as one to Umbridge which gets him into trouble
