I know you probably aren't looking for something like this, but these fics are so good I have to shill them.

The "Fix what was Broken" series by TheManiae on A03 is my favorite in the fandom so far. The first two fics in the series are a couple of one shots, and the third is an ongoing fic building off of that.

This isn't spoilers to the fic series because it says it in the summary but basically, Azure and Baisier find out each other's identies after having some vulnerable moments with each other. And now they have to deal with turmoil of that, a long with a new Eldritch greater evil that has awakened. Expect melodrama, fallings out, and hurt/comfort, as well as some fight scenes. Not everyone's cup of tea but I fucking live off of this shit.

I haven't even mentioned how Great they wrote the two ships. If you like either Utena/Sayo or Kao/Kiwi, this person understands what makes these ships work and you will like how they wrote them.

Overall it's a good character drama with some great romance and fights. Do check it out

Nah, there is 95% chance it would fail. The reason why people stick to subs isn't because they hate the English language (mostly) but rather because the VA environment between America and the rest of the world is just different. You have people taking "creative liberties" with the original script. You have VAs who make politics their whole identity. You have e-celeb VAs with too much drama. You have VAs with egos who think an echi script is beneath them and give the worst voice acting imaginable out of spite. A dub can only work if the cast is willing it to put their all into it. That means no ironic voice acting and no script changes. The chance of that happening is fucking 5% because no English speaker wants to be associated with echi for fear of getting canceled. For something like Mahoako, not bothering at all with the English dubbing market was definitely the right approach. Maybe I am being pessimistic here but c'mon, people have seen that shit get repeated enough times to know not to bother with dubs in general.

People in the /a/ thread were considering storytiming the manga from the beginning now that it's alive again, though it would end up finishing closer to next month's chapter than this month's at this point. Does someone want to take it upon themself?

It's probably better to do it right after the new chapter drops rather than before it. The year long wait period for the new manga has caused people to (understandbly) become schizos and ritualposters. If you start storytiming before the new chapter, those schizos are gonna jump in the threads and do who knows what. Another thing to consider is that if someone is doing storytime right when the new chapter drops, there is gonna be confusion over using the existing story time thread or creating a new thread? That will also lead to schizoposting. Let the new chapter drop, let the new chapter release thread absorb the bandwagoning schizo posters until they get bored/tired out and leave Mahoako threads, then make the storytime threads when everything has calmed down. I've this shit too many times to know there is right and a wrong way to post a series to get people caught up again. At the end of the day, you simply don't want to get discouraged and stop posting. Engaging with dumb people will discourage most folks out there.

Anon, don't downplay it. The author's hiatus was the result of some big sickness and maybe some executive meddling, considering the magazine publishers waited until the new website was finished to release the chapter alongside it. Both of those things are out the author's control. Saying it was "a slump" makes it seem like it was his fault for being that way.
