Switct Lite is the closest thing we got to a classic Nintendo handheld.

I would like to see Nintendo return to a purely home console. Nothing handheld or portable. No bells nor whistles. No Amiibo nor cardboard Labo. Just a console with a great lineup. Mario, Zelda, Kid Icarus, Metroid, Star Fox, and a suite of new and interesting original IP. A man can dream.

It's also because to make the Switch, they had to merge their home and handheld development pipelines which took time and resources. So unless they undo all that, they're kinda stuck with the Switch format now.
