It's fine as a mediocre bargain bin game you play over a long weekend but it's severely flawed. The parry shit is antithetical to turn based RPG design and you effectively can't play the game without engaging in it. Only 2 of the 6 playable characters are relevant to the plot. Various quality of life pain points like lack of minimap and painfully manual process of swapping out lumina loadouts. Aesthetically it's incredibly grey and drab, most enemy designs amount to random geometric shapes in a vaguely humanoid configuration. Characters lack personality in their design since most outfits are interchangeable and the defaults are carbon copy uniforms.

It's fine I guess. It's better than most of the absolute slop we've gotten the past 20 years, but the overall feeling I get from playing it is the desire to play a better game.

Unfortunetly, there's too many gamers who lack the neccesary discipline to enrich their gaming experience in such a way. Game developers take notice of it and come to the wrong conclusion. Instead of turning turn-based games into action games, game developers should turn around to those complaining about turn-based games being too easy and tell them to unplug their ethernet cable and turn on plane mode on their phones.
