Well let's see.
(by the way, I'm Mexican but I will try not to be biased)
The Mexican military has been mostly built up to fight in urban conditions as well as in thick jungles. They are mostly made up of low class southerners from mostly indigenous communities. The armored vehicles aren't very impressive but that's a given as Mexico has some of the worst terrain for heavy vehicles and the cartel still hasn't gotten to the point where they're using RPGs. It deals with a lot of corruption and poor management but there is some aspects of it which excess such as the Marines which have a very good track record.
I don't know much about the Indian military but it seems to me like their main specialty is fighting insurgents in mountainous areas as well as in jungle areas down south. They have more armored vehicles than Mexico as well as air power but they don't seem to use them very often, from what I've seen they seem to be very disorganized most of the time and not very efficient even with all the numbers and logistics they have. That's not to say they can't fight, they can, but unless more component commanders take charge they can't do much, they also deal with corruption but less so than Mexico. Their enemies are less common than in Mexico and they don't do a lot of urban combat, therefor the majority have less experience.
In the end it all comes down to where the battle is fought, who leads each army and the numbers. If it's flat terrain with decent commanders then Indians would probably win, if it's more urban areas along with jungles and forests then Mexicans would probably win.
Anyways this is a random match up I don't think Mexicans care about Indians nor do Indians care about Mexicans. We aren't similar in basically anything except skin color but even then Mexicans tend to be lighter skinned.
That's all
