The target fidelity is Switch 1 games with bumps to framerate, resolution, texture filtering, etc., but you can generally expect last-gen-like power from this thing. If you like Nintendo games, then you'll like what this console has to offer. If not, then you aren't in the audience.
For what it's worth, game design hasn't really changed from last-gen to current-gen. It's just resolution bumps and framerate adjustments. I was always fine with how PS4 games looked but not how they ran. As long as the Switch 2 can run PS4-lite looking games at a rock solid 60 (or failing that, 40 FPS on the VRR screen), nothing else matters because I have a fucking gaymin PC to run real graphical loads.

The issue is that the Switch is making games more expensive while everyone else is used to seeing PS5 games being $70
If the PS6 was coming out and their games were $100 with GTA 6 being $125-150 everyone will praise Nintendo for not being as greedy

You're comparing the docked performance using DLSS to a console that has no FSR on it.
I like DLSS just fine but I'm talking about handheld performance on this thing. The Switch 2 is plenty powerful to make great games, but you should set your expectations accordingly and realize that the flagship titles will look closer to HD uplifts on Switch games and less like Monster Hunter Wilds

Switch 2 is "Series S Lite" rather than "PS4+".
Architecture, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage speed are all in line with current gen systems
