Any 3d Mech games?

I really wanted to like Aquasplender. The aesethetic is unmatched: Colony sim game where you're a cult of fish people who live on a lake of blood. Very sword and sorcery, very Kull, but it was kind of obtuse and unfun.

Didn't get that character, but I didn't have any trouble with performance on my old rig with the characters I did play at least. The game does look a bit blurry though which I guess is some element of the post-processing in what I hope is an unfinished settings menu.

It doesn't really happen until you hit endgame loadouts. Used to be that picrel would do it with 500 Electric Ghost Shots flying around and too many ricochet calculations.
They fixed that, and instead the Vortex Drone procs physics on every entity on screen, which is a brilliant best-in-slot choice for a class that litters the screen with even more items.

The constant restarts broke the flow for me. Tiips to do extended runs?

Buy one or two levels of extra time at the start.
Buy one level of increased starting level so you get off to a fast start.
Freeze time whenever you're able and use the frozen time to pick up drops and move between areas.
Load up on luck accessories to get more gear to drop so you can get better gear to get stronger quickly.
And some chip drops will give you more time or cost you time for other bonuses.

Game is Brew. Pretty fun game that plays like a combination of Ratchet & Clank and Hades. 3rd person shooter with different weapons(potions), but in between runs there's stuff to do in town/talk to people/upgrade.

Occult Solitaire. Primary objective each game is actually discovering and satisfying 4 hidden conditions as you play. I just like it for the comfy Solitaire though.

Other anon is basically right, it should be fairly easy to start doing at least lv.20k runs where you end up with >300 seconds remaining if you just buy as much time as possible and focus down bosses exclusively. I never buy levels, just time and later on gear drop %. Early on, having just one 20k ATK boost item means you can do the first 6~ bosses instantly and farm tech chips from them for a decent build.
Spearman and Gunner are OP <20k and their time stop attacks will help a lot.
Past 20k you can probably figure it out yourself, but it's when you start realizing some weapon effects are far stronger than others. Electric sword, electric gun, flamethrower drone, etc. will put out 10x the DPS of the next-best weapon effect and you should start farming 6 of the best weapon type for your desired class.

Decent game but don't expect Void Stranger like I did. The movement also feels really bad, but there are a lot of good ideas in the demo.

Just played through this. Cute top down racer that gets you into a crazy good flow state. Make sure to turn off vignette and motion blur. Perspective takes a bit to get used to. Fantastic soundtrack (though I'm a little biased because it hits all the notes of the early 2010s Monstercat tracks I loved back in the day)

nta; very polished and responsive but with a limited move set. You swap between characters each with their own abilities, but it gets a bit samey since they seem to be static and I couldn't find a lot of combo possibilities. You mostly rely on a perfect dodge counter (which has the animation straight from Nier Automata). Roguelite skill cards are dropped but they are mostly passives.
Enemy targeting is a tad too sensitive for me and tends to flip around a lot. I enjoyed it but I'm not sure this has legs. If you could find more active abilities and them out on the fly, that might push it over the edge for me. Will keep an eye on it.

Its Warfame mix with hack n slash. Its fun for a few run, hate that its a roguelike tho. The combat is smooth and fast but the enemies are really slow and there only 3 differnet types.
Its not a parry game at all. you'll be pefect dodging alot. No boss at the end for this demo which sucks. The abilitys and switch modes spice up the fun with mode switching combos.
Overall it has potenial to be a great game, hopefully they elevated the dull roguelike elements and the have bosses that are challenging and fun to fight

It's literally a blatent ripoff of game dev tycon, the exact same mechanics, making "music" that gives you points for "bugs, design, research, and whatever". How the fuck are there "bugs" in music, retards? They slightly changed the look of the sliders and use "picks" that you have to manually drop into eavh slot, so it just looks and feels worse. On top of that, apparently youre supposed to be able to actually listen to the music that you make via the AI generating it based off of the settings you set. This WOULD have been an intresting idea, except for the fact it didn't fucking work lmao. The only thing it did to set itself apart from the thing it blatantly plagiarized was have a guitar-hero style minigame. What a shit demo and what a shit game

They show a line before they fire now, and when they do fire the line gets larger. As soon as the line gets larger you can dodge counter regardless of how close the projectile is to you.

OEL manga characters with chip tune music. The UI reminds me of ps2 games before they were boring streamlined boxes and feature-less gauges. The art direction and voice acting may turn some away unless you particularly like that 2000's english-dub vibe or that modernized-retro aesthetic. The game is basically tetris and a match-4. The block mechanics are interesting in that they allow you to fix your mistakes. The basic tetrads are present, along with more annoying and larger pieces to work with. The block mechanics offset it which makes the game considerably easier. Red-hair side boob.

SSR Wives was really disappointing, the camera is insanely annoying unlike the games it's inspired by and the combat feels shit too. Weird bible shit thrown in all over the place that doesn't fit the rest of the aesthetic either and seems kinda forced. The main menu sound track is pretty good though, I guess...

About 15 of the games I tried this time fell into the "barely playable garbage" category, yes. Various games like Sinker Sound or Hlilna or Chetta the Machinery girl had bugs within minutes of starting that made it impossible to progress, while other games like Starlight Revolver or Ayna are put up while in early development with placeholder menus and I can tell that those devs are just retarded for thinking it's a good idea to showcase their game in next fest in such a state.
But there's really no need to pad out the image with comments on every piece of shit game I tried each time. They very much are not worth mentioning.

Mecharashi in particular I suppose is worth noting because I was expecting an actual game and I got low quality formulaic gacha trash instead.

Ayna launches with a disclaimer that the game's been in development for 8 years and is still years away from being finished. With it still having placeholder menus after that tells me that they're incompetent and the game will probably never be finished. Starlight Revolver's demo is the sort of thing that should be considered an alpha playtest and I suppose they think it's justified because they're planning an early access launch. Next Fest is supposed to be limited to only once per game so if a dev takes that shot at promotion and uses it to say "our game exists and we want people to test it" instead of "our game is in a good state to show off and make people excited for it" I say they have the entirely wrong mentality.

High Fructose seemed neat but the balancing is ass. None of the enemies take any hitstun at all and there's no indication of hp or anything so its a crap shoot if you slice an enemy and it dies or you slice it and it hits you instantly. Then it introduces enemeis that make everything in a radious completely invincible enemies also swarm to, so you can't even see the guy you need to kill, who himself takes several hits, during which you're just eating damage and there's nothing you can do about this at all since you only have melee unless you kill specific enemies for a buff, which you can't do when they're all invincible

Yeah I played one of the siege stress tests. The servers didnt crash but it was still so laggy that it was barely playable. It was like Red River except not crashing.

People struggled with getting the battering rams into position as a friendly player could block all forward movement. We had to yell 'Press Q' at randoms who couldnt figure out the dismount ladder button.

The stamina regen is very slow even if you unequip a shield. I think the design is to make you slow and limit your actions per second so that they can stretch out the server estimating your position on other clients in a laggy environment. By keeping the game stupidly simple in some respects, theyve also kneecapped themselves - no way to cripple or slow a solo person kiting away. So right now the game is not fun. I didnt expect it to be, but to me as a player not much has been done in 5 years on their serverside improvements to make it interesting. If the game played smoothly and lag wasnt noticeable, they still need to add a lot more to make gameplay interesting and not a boring slog.

Normal Jupiter Hell has a lot of different systems that will destroy you if you try to play it as if it was DoomRL. It looks the same on the surface, but it plays way too different, with its own set of rules, classes, enemies, damage calculation, etc.

Mostly played it cause I like little orb robots and desert environments. It's cute, but seemingly the main mechanic is solving puzzles with moving and attaching cubes, similar to Botw/Totk mechanics. Controls for it are not great though. The world was neat from what I saw and personally I liked the graphics, though probably not for everyone. If they improve controls it might be worth a look, but it's nothing too special.

'Occult' was pretty generous. It's really just plain solitaire, with the added gimmick of finding which 4 cards need to go on top of the final stack. Very fun fly-through-the-corridor game, felt really smooth to play. First levels were really easy, but the later ones ramped up pretty well. The evil robot-overlord-AI who comments on your gameplay is mostly annoying and incredibly generic as an antagonist and was not needed. Made it on my wishlist and if there weren't more demos to try I would have kept playing.
(Also in the demo you are restricted when choosing levels but by going "next level" you seem to actually have access to all of them?)

Difficulty 1.0 missions are effortless, but 2.0 and 3.0 immediately become an endless series of scrambling back and forth if you don't have 3+ players.
The game endlessly sends shit at you that constantly whittles down your ship's health with no way to mitigate it, you just have to trade damage and hope they don't jump in while you're exploring a station.
The sniper bots are cancer. The shape of your Reactor grid is a fucking joke at your expense for the railgun it gives to you. The layout of the ship you start with is fucking obnoxious and made for you to get caught on lots of extrusions.
Maybe if I had a dedicated squad of three friends, it could be "fun" but then again the game itself has an utterly fucking boring pace.

I dropped the Stellar Blade demo for this reason. Unskippable cutscenes for a bland story and a forced tutorial for resting even though I hadn't fought any real enemies yet after the prologue. I gave this a go to. The first run, I was a real mess, constantly out of ammo.
Second run, I realized I should avoid all auto-shooting modules. Got a double crane, then an electrified crane upgrade, which massively boosted my passive damage to enemies.
It's still a bit hectic to keep the train coal'd up and heal, and use guns. But it's "fun".
My one big complaint is that I felt the boss was a bit "eh"

I also lost my first run because the autoshooting needler ate my ammo and made it impossible for me to fight the boss. I didn't really have a second run because I figured this was good enough for me to wishlist anyway. There are actually coal modules that can help immensely, like the upgrade that loads coal every time you use a module or the upgrade that makes coal 50% more efficient at the cost of 10% train speed. I used those together to practically never have to load coal beyond the first heap, but that's RNG-based.
On the other hand, your gameplay changing in such a drastic manner depending on your luck are one of the best reasons to even have RNG. Just need to patch up the blatantly shit parts like low damage autofire guns that rape your entire ammo stock and offer nothing in return and it should be peachy.
