>>712442983 (OP)Let's clear up some misconceptions about the Steam Deck.
>it barely outsold the n-gage/wii u! Now compare the Deck to other PC handhelds and you realise it dominates the (very niche) market. Why are tendiesnoys crying about sales when the Gamecube exists and got mogged by the PS2 at the time? Are they just hypocrites? Also, Valve clearly sees the Steam Deck as a live experiment. Sales are second to SteamOS and Proton (the main products).
>but it's weak! Handhelds are always behind home hardware. Steam Deck = 1050ti with a Steam Controller bolted on. Also the Legion and Ally exist and you can install SteamOS on them if you really need to play post-2020 AAA, or just use Moonlight streaming. You do own a PC right?
>but you don't own games! You don't have to buy anything on Steam. You can install DRM-FREE software from GoG/itch.io/DLsite/torrents.
>but physical! DRM-free shits on proprietary physical carts.
>but Nintendo games! Of course Nintendo hardware is going to be backed by their IP. It's their only unique selling point. I don't expect to ever run Mario Kart World on the Steam Deck, ever. But you know what I will play? Everything else. Even Deck Verified alone shits all over the eShop, and don't get me started on PC exclusives that you can play with the minute it takes to set a Proton version. Emudeck mogs NSO so completely and you can game knowing that Valve won't steal your games like Nintendo did with the Virtual Console.
>but the resolution! 800p is fine with 7.4 inches. Higher resolutions will strangle the battery, which is bad for a portable device.
>but switch 2 cyberpunk! Stuttery 30-40fps on 5 year old game. Cool.
>but Linux! Valve fixed it with Proton. Fuck Windows 11.
>you're a jeet shilling! The Steam Deck is LITERALLY SOLD IN FIRST WORLD NATIONS ONLY. Meanwhile jeets line up for Switch 2 as we speak.
Are there any more arguments? Or can we all agree the Steam Deck is based and the final solution to the console problem?
