bonds is the worst one, it resets all your bond levels, i guess if you haven't bothered to level up bonds too much it could be decent

the exp one is kind of a joke. it just lowers your level (not even to level 1), which doesn't really do much, because you can just fight a bunch of high level enemies to rapidly level back up. there's even a cheap accessory that gives you 50% exp boost. if you've ever tried to bring along underleveled villagers to powerlevel, you will know how easy it is to catch up in levels. 90% of your attack power is from your weapon and stat boosts from the skill trees and village decorations anyway

money is also a joke. it drops your money to 0. but if you spent all your money before doing the cutscene, then you barely lose anything. also all your revenue generators are untouched so you can just go to sleep the next day and wake up with another 150k+ from your honeybee farm

I haven't played any other Rune Factory games, so I don't know if being the village Chief is normal or not, but compared to the other farming games I have played, I like it and I've found it fun. However! It means you've got this very funny dynamic where your character is the one that's deciding when various festivals will happen and what they are. Instead of turning up at Spring 16 for the Tomato Festival or whatever, you're the one that puts it in the Callendar and tells everyone to attend.

But, because you're the player character, you don't recuse yourself. You schedule a harvest festival. Then you attend. And then you win. Feels insanely self indulgent, making everyone else turn up to this festival only to then put your vegetable (which, very possibly the villagers grew, not you) down and take the prize for yourself!

And it's even funnier when you think about just how ridiculously special the player character is compared to everyone else.

"Yeah, so I used the power of the Goddess of Summer to enrich these seeds to the highest potential, the blessing of the Goddess of Spring to grow them to perfection, and then the spirit of the God of Autumn to harvest them under the most ideal conditions, creating a vegetable like mankind has never seen before.
