I just don't get how it seems not only Fatshark but every other dev who made a co-op Warhammer game after Vermintide 2, seemingly learned nothing from V2 and keep regressing.
One of the things V2 especially has going for it as far as replayability is bots that are actually useful and don't feel like they're outright holding you back when you play with them. Customizable bots and loadouts with full access to talents, showing off your cosmetics and being built how you want to support your playstyle.
Yeah, these are meant to be online co-op games, but it's good solo play which always brings people back and encourages them to drop in and drop out whenever they want.

Nuking is possible with a select few careers, but it requires a bit of a setup. Bots will eventually go down unless they are setup perfectly and maybe have a modded AI. IB bardin with double hammers, unchained with flail and conflagration, sott with javelin and double sword, merc kruber with OYFM + spear and shield, and WHC with rapier are the best picks even for cata games.
IB bot in particular will always be the last to go down in any situation, and you can shoot the fucker for easy gromril cc.

i tried it with a couple friends years ago and it was boring as fuck.

any bot that has no access to ranged weapons is terrible.
bots do not have roles and will actively ignore any if given one.
WP will just chase your packmaster instead of bubbling you because he just bubbled another bot because they were about to get shanked by a lone pink.
meanwhile all the others would've just immediately sniped the hookrat.
WP, slayer, and GK: they all look cool and have interesting kits, but they are indubitably the worst bots you could choose from.
if your WHC is dying too often, give him riposte, cast away and unending.
