Only something ridiculously unrealistic like significantly undercutting Sony in price for similar hardware or getting a miracle smash hit exclusive that will make people run to the store in droves to pick up an Xbox would save them. Obviously nobody at Microsoft is dumb enough to actually expect either of those to happen which is why they've been moving to rebranding Xbox as a software platform of sorts with the actual Xbox hardware being a small and nonessential part of that. The end goal now is being a software store and game publishing business like Valve but (hopefully) covering more hardware platforms.

This killed the entire Xbox brand, meanwhile Nintendo says the same exact thing and not only was the switch 2 the most successful launch in history, but tendies bend over backwards to defend the dude who said it. Cults are fascinating.

The xbox one had a load of other problems besides a PR man sticking his foot in his mouth.

They were literally trying to turn xbox into some kind of living room media machine instead a of games console.

Isn’t that essentially what he is? He doesn’t play games, he’s extremely out of touch with his own consumer base. To us, he’s little more than just some douchebag in a suit reading off the teleprompter about how excited he is to announce the next groundbreaking and revolutionary game that will totally not flop and be entirely forgotten about after two weeks

The funny thing is Sony was planning on having a level of drm on their machine as well since they weren't making money when people bought used madden, fifa, and cod. With paid online and gacha boxes, they haven't made used game sales a priority anymore.

still don't get why it was so bad, if you're poor, retarded, and rural, yeah, you're not in the market for new consoles, you're a fucking thirdie basically.
seriously, if you're poor why are you watching e3 and getting mad about it--HOW are you watching e3 and getting mad about it without internet, did you fucking get the video on a burned DVD or something in your favela
how did you even have games in 2012 and stay in the market but have no internet, was your 360 still using blades or whatever
