>>712613920you don't have to play the game competitively to run into the endless zoners / gimmick characters online who try to cheese you through 11 frames of input delay. for whatever reason, rosterfags and casual players act like "competitive play" is a boogeyman that's going to break into their home and slap the controller out of their hand for trying to have whatever their narrow definition of "fun" is with the game. in reality, and despite their obsession with "competitive players" demanding that they play the game a specific way, they're the ones who try to force Smash to be one extremely narrow experience that excludes others. the sheer hypocrisy of casuals is baffling.
there's no point explaining the legitimate mechanical flaws with Ultimate to you, because you're just going to say that things like safe, auto-cancel (and disjointed) aerials, a universal 3f jumpsquat, high vertical jump velocity and no horizontal jump momentum, a knockback formula that aborts combos faster than a 17 year-old out of wedlock, and basically everything about the way that heavies work is "competitive". it's not. it's just how the game works, and in Ultimate's case it works poorly and incentivizes people to play like massive faggots.
