I don't get the recent negativity. Canto 8 was one of the better cantos, with the best side cast and good pacing. Who gives a fuck if you can spend currency to continue. All other gacha have that system and you can choose not to use it. People bitch about them nerfing fights then bitch when a system gets introduced which may prevent nerfing.

No, the real concern is how the company seems to be run. When Kim Ji-Hoon started venting on stream I felt genuinely embarrassed to be a PM fan. I don't mind a Director that's a bit more open with their fans but holy shit a stream is not a place to vent about how tough the job is.
The fact he admitted Hong Lu's identity for this season is still in development really shows how much they're rushing things. In my mind that's something to have 90% done before the season even starts. I feel bad for the devs because they're likely all overworked to shit.

I don't mind an Arknights collab, being a fan of both games, but it coming at the cost of potentially ruining the set-up/pacing of Ryoshu's canto is not a worthwhile trade. Especially when the next intervallo is STILL in H Corp. Yeah I love its cast but I wanna move onto the next story.

/v/ was the first home for PM fans in the west since the first pirated, translated version was openly shared here, so it's full of hardcore fans of both LC and Ruina. They see Limbus as casual trash aimed at the lowest common denominator and want it to fail so that PM goes back to making games for them. Problem is, that while being an overall niche gacha game that isn't close to making as much money as the top gacha, it makes way more money than their previous 2 entries ever did, and their numbers keep growing due to good word of mouth, so PM is incentivized to keep making Limbus for 10 more years.

Also the control freak tendencies of the director means the company is unable to expand too much and develop anything else in the sidelines, so effectively the fans of those 2 older games have been stranded and abandoned. All they want is a bone thrown at them, something that says "Here's your city management simulator based on the setting", but such a thing is not likely to happen in the current situation

I already started feeling fatigue near the end of Heathcliff's canto. Don's Canto being a disappointment also added to the discontent. The fatigue got to me during Season 3, I can't believe some people can still keep up with all the mandatory grind that you have to do if you want to keep up with the difficulty levels of the new content. Then don't do it? I come back when there's a new story, farm some new units, then I leave, and I feel fine. If you fall for the gacha completionist mindset that you need to do dailies every day and farm MD all the time then it's easy to see how you would burn out if you don't enjoy the gameplay. I like the gameplay when there's a new challenge, like the Railways, but just pressing Winrate mindlessly is very tedious and not worth it imo, so I don't do it.

The director is probably micromanaging each and every little detail of the MD changes too. They should've kept what they had in Heathcliff's canto and just keep adding more cards. And the director should just outsource creating new game modes - or hell, the entire gameplay system - to one of his employees. NTA. There are many reasons why it is my least favorite of the non-release chapters.

From Paula and Camille, to the vampire trio. Now you might think; "well wasn't this the case with all other chapters?" not quite. Several side characters in other chapters, even if destined to die in the end, all have at least some impact in the story and most importantly the protagonist sinner.

That is not the case for chapter 7. The fixer duo is presented as being of some importance and one of them is fought, then later when both are found dead they just serve to be a filler fight which is of no importance whatsoever to the narrative except to say they're dead. The vampire trio does not serve any purpose in particular in the end either, nor do they bring any form of change into Don Quixote.
That is the role of only 2 characters, the blue fag and the real Don. These two were the only characters that mattered.
In fact the side characters had such little importance that they just introduced two important characters from Hong Lu's story to make things smoother.

Unbearable amount of flashbacks which were little importance apart from having Don saying some lines after a filler fight. I will say that this was a huge problem in chapter 8 as well, but at least they had the good sense to keep them to the 2nd part instead of the final climatic part.
There could have been twice or half the amount of flashbacks, and it wouldn't have changed a thing because they didn't impact Don who had already her mind set. Don who changes her mind later anyways due to the power of friendship.

Finally, when you are disappointed by all of this, it is easier to get even more angry when you recall it took 7 months to release. No i did not ask for 2 intervallos, 2 reruns, a walpurgis, and a multitude of changes at the cost of chapter delays. But unfortunately it is the norm now. Oh and the new MD was also less fun than the previous one, for some reason.

It's my favourite canto too, but I think the division has to do with how it sacrificed a lot of the exploration of the world to do that.
Meaning that wether you liked it or not is more reliant on its focus sinner than prior cantos.

Personally, I think the issue was worsened because the main story didn't explore the bloodfiends enough within the canto.
La mancha land's tragedy only became really apparent with the uptie stories + Intervallo really showing how severe a condition it is.

Red coins are better for the game, players should have to do more than just win clashes against bosses and Lei Heng was a good example of that.

The only issue was that Lei would sometimes skip phases if damaged enough and do his 6 coin attack on the turn he was given full ammo.

Honestly, part of the issue is that there's no decent content to play more than once.
Mirror Dungeon is basically just Arknights Integrated Strategies with all of the difficulty and reason for difficulty ripped out (because Director made a roguelike mode into the farming mode for some reason, ironically removing most of the fun in the process).
Because there's no actual content to do more than once besides the P > Enter simulator, people can only focus on the story and the gacha hype, which shines more of a spotlight on the mismanagement and poor game balance.

Limbus would be better if they whole sale ripped off Ruina combat. Because at least then you can think about what you are doing.

Every single one of you who says there's no gameplay and the grind is mindless isn't engaging with the game enough. Putting together your suite of EGO gifts in a mirror dungeon is quite fun.

Before then statuses, clearly decayed like they did in Ruina where they lose a fraction of the stack when triggered. There are a fair few ways to mitigate the damage.

Dulcienas fight was the first one people threw complaints about but if you read what the fight does every single skill has either bleed count or bleed pot not both barring the one super skill you're meant to prevent her from using.
You're meant to manage bleed on your team and clash to keep it low while killing the adds to weaken her, not just winrate and get tons of bleed stacked on yourself.

Against Lei you can't just clash and win without consideration for his skill order you're gonna take damage because you aren't actually making him spend bullets, before his attacks that scale damage with bullet count or that use other resources

Roseate Desire is quite possibly one of the worst EGOs in the game and it absolutely clowns on Lei Heng's entire gimmick, Ishmael wins one clash and this guy gets locked down with 16 bind because of all the coins he flips and he gets an offense level debuff for that turn.
There are so many ego, even s1-2 stuff (like Khong) that make these fights so easy. At this point I'm only able to assume you're complaining that you can't beat everything with base IDs and EGO which amounts to begging the game to be even more braindead easy.
I used a medocre team for the final boss, my reward was a long fight became even more painfully long. It was terrible not because of unbreakables but because following the boss gimmick makes the fight last forever when you can skip stages with bleed or rupture. Lei Heng was an ideal boss fight, it's fast if you do it correctly but he can fuck you up if you don't read.

I would never want it to be easy even for base EGOs and IDs. I did it actually, it didn't even take as long as i thought it would, 27 turns. And it was absolutely miserable exactly because of unbreakables giving you tremor and burn, in turn giving your enemy additional coin power although you can still handle that when you know what you're doing. The damage of unbreakable attacks isn't even the problem there, nor did i ever thought it was since Meursault's base EGO which everyone has takes care of that. I have always complained about them inflicting status effects. By the way i'd consider roseate desire pretty good even taking the negative coin into account.

I want it to be fair. Unbreakables make it quite unfair. We used to discuss about the fact that any team could win any fight so long as you know the encounter and understand everything you're using. But with Lei Heng this doesn't apply. If you can't just rapidly kill him with OP stuff, you abuse great EGOs to render him powerless all the time. If you can't do that, then it's a race against time before your units die from burn, or worse, he staggers and kills one of your sinners and inflicts clash power down on everyone in which case, good luck if you don't have any good EGOs you can use next turn.
I firmly believe that if you're good at a game and understand all its mechanics, unless there is a problem with stats or levels, you should not have trouble no matter what you use. This has been the case for me in Limbus whether i used base EGOs & IDs, Shi only run, haste, less IDs on the field, etc. Until Lei Heng unfortunately.

I'll say it again: I believe cracked red coins inflicting as much status effects as they do is simply wrong. Nothing will make me change my mind on this. The rest is completely manageable.

Anyway, I genuinely don't know how people can watch the cutscenes and claim it's the same experience or even a better one instead. I imagine it must be the same thing for Ruina or LobCorp. If you only watch the cutscenes, you miss a bunch of stuff that only shows outside of said cutscenes, like abnormalities and their info, passives, dialogue of characters and the information of the setting.
By watching with gameplay, you can probably not care what mechanic is being shown, since the one who decides if you can read it or not is the player. There are no stakes to feel, since you can have a sense of how something is difficult or not, but it never compares to doing it yourself while really using your brain.
It's true that you can access some wiki or more videos to get all of this information you missed, but are you really going to look for it? It's all stuff in the gameplay you despised, so would you really care about it? Watching the game only makes the experience more shallow than whatever you would've felt if you played it yourself.

I stopped playing around the time the Ishmael moby dick skin came out.
Got back for the new season, bought the battle pass, tried playing and immediately remembered why I left. The gameplay is just not fun. The story isn't worth subjecting myself to this daily grinding nonsense. And from what I remember, the only thing I really liked about the story was the interesting scp concepts and monsters.
