This is an RTS thread.
Post about strategy games which are real-time. Discuss why 3D is shit and 2D is better.
>>712626765 (OP)The advantage of isometrics is using images instead of clunky 3d models. You can get nice detail to a structure that isn't possible with blocky models.
why does no one discuss zero k?

how do they manage to make rts games feel fresh?
>>712626765 (OP)It always seemed weird to me that in RTS games you could order 1 guy to attack an entire army or base. Most humans wouldn't dare throw their lives away like that.
Do any RTS games incorporate a fear mechanic?
What's the modern equivalent to Defcon?
Is Broken Arrow good? Releases next week and it looks interesting.
>>712628079Cossacks games feature a morale system. At least I remember Cossacks 2 having it. Having a unit's formation break sends them running back to the barracks.
>>712626765 (OP)Anyone else disappointed that the new civ in AoM was another spinoff Chinese civ?
>>712628249I had to look up the context for that as you're too lazy for that. It's a Gay Ben interview where he wants people to justify whether something being more realistic is more fun.
It adds some tactical depth and that's what strategy games should be about.
>>712627876No.
Tiberian Sun Remastered.
>>712628063Looks like a SupCom clone (boring game where you stare at a map and shapes instead of cool action).
>>712628642Can't even tell if baiting or just retarded.
>>712628642No, my issue is which one I love more; Egyptian or Japanese.
>>712628642It's not out yet, so how can we judge it?

I full expect India DLC at some point as well.
>>712628642I do. I was hoping for Aztecs or Hindu.
>>712628079not really an rts but total war games kind of do this. auto-routing units also can come back. furthermore, u have to consider their stamina and experience in a battle (e.g. a battered unit will be less effective than a fresh unit, even if they have the same numbers)
company of heroes kind of does this with the suppression mechanic and some units have sarcastic lines of dialogue if u order them to attack tanks if they only have rifles
>>712629076>The derivative is better than the originalMany such cases.
>>712628896You can judge it by looking at the myth units. Chinese was shit because almost all the MUs were quadrapedal animals. Japanese might be better since they already said it has tengu, shinigami, the wheel of fire from nioh and again a dragon.

Faggot games that killed rts because boomer groomers refuse to make or play anything that aren't copies of these and then wonder why the genre's dead
>>712629120Aztec, Celtics, even civs like Babylonian would have been better (considering how atlanteans were a thing)
>>712627876Why? You already have this game
>>712629094What would be the value in that sort of system? Wouldn't the first engagement in any round decide the whole thing, because the guy left with the greater force is now just auto-panicking the numerically inferior forces of the opponent? What new avenues of strategy would such a system open up? Off the top of my head, you're already losing standard stall tactics of throwing a trickle of cheap bulk units into the meat grinder, as well as harassment tactics of sending individual fast units to attack workers/buildings, because they're too scurred now. What do you get in return?
>>712629075dta and mental omega are kino
>>712628850Egyptian civ is SOVL
>>712629421I think it could do away with some of the micro management. I'd rather have more focus on macro mangement and early harassment could go away to some extent if singular units were too scared to engage
>>712626765 (OP)most RTS were shit, at least against AI.
because the enemy just blatantly cheats and spam units
>>712629623>rts are dead>we will never see learning neural net opponents
>>712629241E-sports killed the genre. Nothing else.
>>712629685I liked RTS where the enemy can't cheat by spamming units.
For example the Sudden Strike series.
Although there are games like Knights and Merchants where the AI is just so superior in numbers that it gets retarded. Where you get one HQ building and 10 soldiers and the enemy has 5 big bases and 1800 units at game start.

>>712626765 (OP)Just played 4 hours as the HRE in KoH2. I don't get why the game got the hate it got, its an improvement on the first one in all aspects except soundtrack
>random map generator where you can set the % amount of mountains, water, forests, etc.
>over 30 different AI personalities/profiles
>lots of different hostile neutral units with roaming patrols and lairs with random rewards when destroyed
Kohan is peak comfy RTS for AI skirmishes and exploration gameplay. The 3D sequel has better AI but worse gameplay because of having fixed settlement points and a more limited random map generator.
>>712630957>KohanI really liked Axis & Allies from the same devs
>>712630781I think the visuals are extremely ugly. The first one is ageless. I do think the gameplay is better, but it really looks unappealing as fuck. As for the music, the original had music composed by the same guy who worked on Baldur's Gate 3 so it was kinda inevitable that KoH2 would have ass music if he wasn't involved.

>>712640634Lord of the Rings: War of the Rings. It's made by the guys who made Battle Realms. If you played BR, you'll know exactly what to do in War of the Rings.
>>712628079I like iamgining that every unit is Hanma Yujiro
>>712640238>how so? are the missions poorly designed?NTA, the campaign is a Soviet one so it revolves around a psycho commissar bullying a stereotypical non-political army officer. It's really on the nose and drags down the experience, but otherwise the campaign is fine enough.
>>712626765 (OP)About to play Dawn of War Soulstorm for the first time
I will never forgive the tryhard 1v1 ladderfag chuckfucks Relic left in charge of the balance patches of COH2 after the Brits were released. They ruined a lot of shit for the sake of balancing 1v1s.
They fucking ruined Jaeger Armor. The one fucking Wehr commander that was unchanged from day 1 because it was actually good to begin with and they fucked with it because having recon and dive bomb in the same commander was just too overpowered all of a sudden.
>>712640904man i have to try the unification mod, played the vanilla version for such a long time. But tw warhammer 3 is taking all of my time rn
You guys seen Era One? Winter's been shillin' it and it does look kinda sorta nice.
Luv' me some mobile, modular, big-ass, bases.
>>712640847oooh shit, yeah, I remember all the drama on release with the russian people complaining about the stereotypical portrayal of the commissars. Honestly I don't care about that, as long as the gameplay is nice.
>>712640238>how so?RTS is a multiplayer genre so every campaign is by default a drawn out tutorial mode
>>712640173I would disagree partially. Vanilla COH2's campaign is slop but honestly, so were a lot of COH1's missions. The only time the game was difficult was during defence missions where they could swamp you with Tigers or whatever. Any mission where you were on the attack was trivial to cheese with snipers and tanks because the AI's units were largely fixed in place, meaning that if you brought up tanks to fight enemy infantry, absolutely no AT or Tank backup was coming if the level designer didn't put it there, meaning they posed literally 0 threat whatsoever. They also barely ever moved out of their positions meaning you could just snipe or bombard them to death from afar and they'd just stand there.
The best campaign was Ardennes Assault, because the AI was an actual threat and you could actually lose fairly easily if you weren't careful with your units.
>>712641094It woulda been fine if they toned it down a little but he's just evil for the sake of it. The campaign has some nice setpieces, it's just the stupid drama in between missions that's annoying
>>712641209>RTS is a multiplayer genre Wrong.
More people play the campaigns.
Any RTS that focuses on multiplayer only dies.
>>712640904The campaign was dogshit in SS.Also 2 new races are worse versions of already existing ones.
>>712641014>unification modThe balance is all over the place. I remember playing with a guy that would spam basic T1 inquisition unit with 200 ranged dmg that could win 3v1 vs marine squads. They also add cringe anime shit
>>712641580Pretty good, actually! The campaign is definitely worth a playthrough. It's the game that initially gave everyone hope about HW3
>>712641641>The balance is all over the placemore than apocalipse? i never tried that because the "balance" does not exist in that mod, at least in unification theres not so much op shit like apocalipse and you can limit what units the teams can use.
>>712641668How's the multiplayer?
Are you still unable to play together if one is on steam and the other is on.. wherever else you could buy it.
So... which Warlords Battlecry game is the best?
>>712641628No, more people play the campaign but an RTS that focuses on the MP survives longer, even with a reduced player base on the campaign players have finished and moved on.
>>712641580It's well made but stressful to play because of defending resources, like CoH2 and DoW2. Constantly have to pump units out to counter like rock paper scissors, no time to sit back and assemble an army.
we really, REALLY need a sprite based successor to brood war or AOE2 with fat tits to sell to the younger audience.
>>712642495no. I mean seriously speaking that won't make shit for money. just can't take the /v/ coomer's take on video games seriously
>>712642692it's the only way forward for RTS. I say this as someone that has played broodwar since 1998.
On a side note, the starship troopers RTS is actually super fun if you guys haven't tried it out. It's more of a puzzle game but if you like the theme you'll put a bunch of hours into it like I did
>>712642003No idea, sorry, last I heard it was active but small
>>712641896>more than apocalipse?Well... Unification isn't trying to be Supreme Commander on DoW engine. While you can't nuke people like in UA you still can make shit like titans. Also Good luck with balancing all the new races. While you have op T1 units in inquisition, you also have dogshit Mechanicus unit's that stop moving if they are 5 feet away from their HQ. There is also Legion of the damned that works like shittier Necrons, you can only recruit ultra slow marines form HQ and if they die you are fucked because it takes forever to make a new one. You either win in 5 minutes or you might as well call gg.
I had more fun figuring out what was the most broken unit combo in UA than Unification.
Tzeentch Baner carriers cooldown reduction used to stack so you could spam high damage aoe storm with your Chaos Sorcerer. I remember making a guy ragequit with that. Too bad UA team shat the bed so hard and had broken installs for 5 version. It's been so long I dont even know if they unfucked it.
>>712628653So does attacking worker units and production building as an abstraction for attacking a rival nations economy to reduce their capacity for war. "Realism" should be used to enhance the gameplay in ways that make sense to the rest of the games design. It should not just be there for its own sake.
>>712643117please god no. Just let it die
>>712628079In pure, classical RTS games, not really. In something like Total War which is turn-based with real-time battles, yes. Your units have a morale / leadership value and if that drops too low the unit routes and runs away from the fight. Being close to overwhelming enemy forces is one of the thing which gives units a leadership penalty.
>>712641896UA at least knows what it is doing and is generally coherent. Unification is blatantly designed around unit models that the author got his hands on with actual faction design taking a backseat. The Imperial Fists faction the fucker made is my go to example (take a wild guess who my favorite chapter are), they have this schizo mix of both Horus Heresy and Primaris shit just thrown in there and my favorite, 4 fucking relic units one of which is Rogal Dorn.
Its good if you can get some friends to fuck around with and see all the silly shit it has to offer but if you want to seriously play some Dawn of War then I cannot for the life of me recommend it.
>>712633443>Populous: The BeginningI wish it had a skirmish mode against the AI
Come to think of it, we need more fantasy RTS games. Warcraft, Spellforce and Warlords: Battlecry isn't enough.

It's literally everything <THAT GAME> pretended it was going to be and beyond.
>>712643903Amazes me how a custom map for WC3 became so popular and turned into what it is today
>>712643817fantasy rts can have super comfy tilesets when the devs aren't visionless retards.
It's the same for scifi of course, but every RTS always defaults to jungle or grey because it is easier on the eyes. Desert and snow tilesets look so cool but they really hurt to play on after a while
>>712628079Beyond what was mentioned, back in the 2000s era when RTS games were still churned out and forgotten there were several attempts at fear/morale etc. mechanics and they all just resulted in poor gameplay. It worked in a game like Total War- it just doesn't in a classic RTS. Some elements of realism must sometimes be sacrificed for the feel of a game.

>>712647419I want to hear how the actual factions work though. From my understanding, you have three that correspond to: rugged military tanks, advanced scifi tech, and fast moving partisans, but they haven't done much to demonstrate.
>>712648501Yes this exists, but I mean a real combination of gacha and hardcore RTS. Maybe something like GF2 where you can mix and match outfits for your units, different skirts, different hairstyles, different guns, etc, as long as it doesn't fuck up the silhouette for quick recognition.
If nothing else, have a "commander" that you only see on the load screen where you can also see the enemy commander, and let us dress her up. You could have commanders with different voice lines etc, similar to how broodwar currently has different announcers (same with SC2). There's a lot of different ways you could monetize it. Then in the lobby screen you could have your commander walking around too, similar to how guilty gear does its multiplayer
Total War 40K announcement in december.
>RTS thread
Obligatory epitaph.
>>712640238They are poorly designed, but worse, veyr very old. So many multiplayer patches have changed weapon values that a lot of the single player missions are borderline impossible because your weapons aren't capable of dealing with the enemies.
>>712628063I didn't really like it when it was CA, though I agree with a lot of its mission statements, just wish the improvements it brought to the table were in a more standard TA style game.
>>712648637You would be surprised. Agony lords of hell is doing a Hindu underworld faction.
>>712628079Combat Mission does. Your units have morale, and they can be routed which will make them retreat and you lose control of them. The steel division games also have this mechanic though it's not as deep.
>>712648835no. all anti-multiplayer talk is just sour grapes. an RTS singleplayer takes too much effort to make for a paltry experience compared to all the other single-player games out there across the genres.
it's like saying multiplayer chess is what killed chess- they should have focused on single player chess puzzle content
>>712648731I also crave more info on the factions. The lead dev runs the youtube account and he replies to comments with more info not in the videos, so some random things I've gathered.
>the high tech guys have mobile walking refineries and buildings. they can just walk their base to new locations rather than rebuilding>according to a dev's comment they'll also have jump jets on a bunch of troops like the power suits that can jump aroundhttps://youtu.be/Z9Xgrz0Uoz4?si=0je2wv3o82AwILmr
>the empire/industrialist guys have half tracks that transform depending on what you load them with. load them with a mortar and it becomes a mortar truck, load with an anti-tank gun and it becomes and anti-tank half trackhttps://youtu.be/Z9Xgrz0Uoz4?si=0je2wv3o82AwILmr
>The warband barbarian guys have giant kamikaze scrap balls that roll into your base and destroy everything>there's also a mutation/psychic power part of the setting and I think the warband faction plays into it the most. Pretty sure they'll get the most "spellcaster" units with psychic powers and stuffthose are just random things I found
>>712649374Chess' basics are extremely simple to get across and not frustrating at all. Bad comparison.
>>712648835RTS peaked with the campaigns of AOE, AOM, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Rise of Nations, C&C Generals and Empire Earth
Fuck competitive multiplayer autism, and fuck you for killing the genre.
>>712628079>Dawn of War has a morale system that causes the units to lose cohesion and overall effectiveness in a fight>Battlefleet Gothic has that with the added ability of mutinies potentially causing the units to bail from the battle if you don't bring them back in

>>712649476Chess is a game where the only times you can innovate is at the very top and very bottom of the ladder in terms of skill.
>>712626765 (OP)I miss this game like you would not believe. When it was only system vs system it was the platonic ideal of a simple RTS. Hackers added a whole different dimension. Network can go fuck itself though, horrid faction that was bad for the game.
>>712649830They don't have plans for anymore civs. They've completed their road map and if the game becomes profitable they might consider adding more civs.

>>712655984japs are consolefags. consoles dont play RTS well
>>712648835>>712645740As always, the first and foremost reason RTS "died" was because in mid-2000s all the major publishers shifted focus to developing console games with PC becoming secondary and relegated to living off ports.
RTS doesn't work on consoles, there were several attempts and none of them panned out, as a result money dried up for the genre, developers closed down and RTS fans were, for a while, content on surviving off the modding scene many of the older RTS games had developed.
The second problem faced by RTS is that most people don't actually want to play an RTS game.
The core principal of RTS is the collection and management of resources between:
>Building up your base>Creating combat units>Investing in researchMany people actually want only one, maybe two of these things and tolerate the rest being there
>Like building bases? Why not just play a city builder?
>Enjoy combat with units?Have you heard of Real Time Tactics games?
>Love researching things? Just play Factorio or some other management game
Third, which might be a minor factor, but still a factor, is that RTS fans aren't nesasarily going to buy and play RTS games.
Some people want specific things, like they want a fantasy setting or a futuristic space setting, or they want big armies or focus on fewer but more detailed units.
I am not particularly fond of games that have only 2 or 3 factions. It's not a deal breaker for me, but I enjoy variety.
>>712655984Because they're consolebabies
>>712655984I mean this with the utmost respect, but japs only like low IQ games. they will never ever make RTS or games with complex systems like dwarf fortress or CDDA or roguelikes with complex damage systems and build crafting. they just like 4 niggas in a row selecting ching chong beam from the menu and seeing 9999 damage

RTS is fun because you're taking multitasking skills and using them to outsmart your equal, who is fully cognizant of his role as your enemy. You can get as creative as you want. The sky is the limit. You can even innovate and enjoy some time in the limelight when you become the new Phosphoru.
Not so IRL. Fitness/dieting is repetitive, your only enemy is your lack of will, and there's no point where you win. You just passively enjoy the benefits of being physically fit. Kinda nice, but rarely worth pursuing beyond a set point. There's no room for innovation. The secret is just to stretch and exercise as many muscle groups at once as possible. Protein powder, walking a mile a day, and intermittent fasting. There. Solved. Start jogging 3 months in and get a pet for your gym crush to gush over.
Social skills aren't anything like RTS, and the more you understand them, the more you'll hate interacting with other people.
RTS is fun for its own reasons. Real life can't compare.

>>712655984>>712656381I think the real reason is that Japan has a very strong focus on characterization and in a RTS game the player is disconnected from the game world and has no identifiable avatar, you command cool units, but you ARE NOT them, you are always the faceless commander, but they have made some interesting games in the genre:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mech_Platoon
This doesn't look like much at a first glance, it's a little miracle that it even works at all, but it has very good mission design for the campaign and an interesting unit building system.
For the DS there are a few entries based on popular RPG franchises that I've played.
Heroes of mana, it basically FFT in real times, even has the sme blocky visual style and grid based movement, it's very charming, but somewhat clunk to control.
Final Fantasy XII - Revenant Wings, this is one of the best games of this style and I unirocanilly wish it could have been ported to the PC using the same 3D models from the CGIs.
The gameplay is less of a classic RTS and more in line with Magic and Mayhem for the PC, if you don't know that, it's a kind of RTT mixed with adventure game, there's no unit building, you control a main hero unit that summons minions using MP, the focus is on army composition and using spells/abilities to support your units.

>>712687894If the game itself was good enough for the godawful story not to matter I wouldn't care so much, HW2 survived a pretty meh story to have a strong modding community. Something is really missing about HW3's play that I have trouble explaining in simple terms, maybe part of it is how fragile everything is so you spend more attention managing your construction queues than your fleet. The game is literally only kept alive by the hope of modders making cool stuff, and one of the only ones getting real attention is a guy modding HW1 & 2's campaigns into HW3's engine.
The really, really frustrating thing is that Deserts of Kharak is a much better game even though its ground combat, and it too has a servicable at best story behind the campaign. That game seems to have been made as a proof of competency to make a new series of RTS with a similar style, so it's not like they didn't have a team capable of making a good game. People can try to blame the one 'narrative manager" or whatever tumblr-looking woman but the truth is it takes more than that to ruin a game so thoroughly.
This current timeline divergence we live in fucking sucks, and the fact that Shipbreakers as a stand-alone IP like in the initial trailers isn't the game we got is one more tragic reminder of it.

>>712689921That's not so strange. A singleplayer RTS is one and done, you sell it and that's it. There could be millions of people all over the world playing the C&C campaign but nobody at EA would ever know because they're not online.
>>712689921I think that's not a fair representation, the back catalogue of good RTS to play is pretty full and most of them are old so they aren't getting coverage for mainstream (re: zoomer) audiences. You just don't hear about hem because, what is there to say about playing Total Annihilation, Battlezone, or Star Trek Armada II that is more than an occasional inclusion about a discussion of RTS in general?
>>712691104What's interesting about those late 90's and early 2000's RTS games is that they were still very much branching off into different areas as to what you could do in an RTS. WC3 added rpg mechanics with the heros. Total Annihilation said, fuck it pump out as many units as your PC can handle, so on and so forth. Genres today have solidified a little too much that the open ended experimentation isn't as common.
>>712692030Understandable, game dev in general is a lot more demanding now than it was back in the day, and RTS is probably the most difficult genre to make a game from aside from MMOs. In my opinion there was a unique pipeline that doesn't really exist any more for a lot of early game devs through the 2000's, and that is that they were computer science / programming nerds making games as a hobby, or a passion, and then a business. That kind of background seems to have fostered people who have a knack for unconventional thinking, because you need to be pretty creative and skilled to program your own 3d graphics engine from scratch because you want to make a fully-3d spaceships RTS, but it's 1997 so that's your only option.
I think the indie scene is still a place where cool, unique games are being made, but there's so little money in it for third parties it rarely gets the attention it deserves. There's a hundred other reasons why game dev is the way it is, but in terms of a studio making a new modern RTS, unless they want to cater to a retro market which is smaller than we all think it is, it needs to be a modern game running on a modern graphics engine which means it takes a ton of work to make, which is already a big check for a publisher to write in order to fund the ~4 years it'll take. And then RTS is second only to flight sims in how niche it is so the prospective audience is smaller than usual. Unless you can self-fund it, it's a fucking hard sell and I know that better than most because I used to work at the team in J.P Morgan that was one of the go-to's for dev funding and we had more than a few pitches for interesting RTS games come across that were declined because realistically the expected sales just weren't there, and you don't last as a business if your strategy is gambling on something being the next Minecraft and throwing money at it.
>>712626765 (OP)I want an RTS with the scope and size of the map similar to 4X games like civ, but without the 4x bullshit like managing estrogen supplies and your units emotional states.
>>712692030>that they were still very much branching off into different areas as to what you could do in an RTSDefinitely. Pic related was a good experiment but no one followed up on it for example, I wonder if making this game is actually impossible with todays engines as you'd have to create massive urban environments with literally thousands of individual units that you can take direct first person control of.

look at stellaris. first developed as a space roleplaying game with macromanagement strategy elements. but then the fans kept asking for more and more micromanagement, cause micro managing efficiently is hard but brainless and it made the autists feel good about themselves.
I remember warcraft 3's tutorial being fun and then the first level has a shit ton going on. I finished the game but that jump from tutorial to first level threw me off.
you should be able to capture resource points, and to assign personell to it, and defend it, not having to keep telling your workers what to do after each task is over. they are dozens not a few.
you should be able to order commanders to focus on tasks, to have a certain offensive, defensive or manuevering attitude when approaching a task and watch them rally soldiers under their command, not to autistically keep selecting ten units at a time and telling each group to do exactly what. you are supposed to be their figurative brain, not their actual brain.
this is due to technical limitations back in the 90s and 2000s. rts genre devs should have progressed further and overcome these shortcomings in design, instead they just keep copying great games from back then and being worse than them.

>>712706483I found the demo again recently by searching for some news or blog page on warcraft's old website through waybackmachine. the download link still works. just werks out of the box on win10. not gonna shove SC2, CoH2 down because its probably the more popular game nowadays but I put CoH1 on top. AoE3 is an outlier and less popular.
Also added Tempest Rising because its generally well received, but I didn't play it yet
Is Empire of Ants/ Undergrowth worth putting on that image. Never see those games brought up in RTS threads
>>712689921'Alive' is inherently tied to MP. If gooks in korea got nuked and the StarCraft 1 scene died overnight that wouldn't make the singleplayer campaigns any worse on a replay. 'Alive' is a meme status that doesn't matter.
>>712713721>Empire of Ants/ UndergrowthHow do we even categorise it? It doesn't fit on any of the existing branches, it's in the same ballpark as Impossible Creatures, but how do we get to that after Dinosaurs yes, ants are basically dinosaurs since they were around then I know, but shut up
>>712713946It's there, you missed the Sci-Fi branch
>>712712687Everyone expected a SupCom clone but it plays more like Liquid Wars.
It was also one of the first games to require DX11 I think so it didn't work on Win7.
>>712714053>DX11>so it didn't work on Win7That's news to me. Someone should inform my fucking computer that it shouldn't be running the game.
>>712714196*DX12
I'm pretty sure AoE1 DE also said it requires Win10 and heard people playing it on older Windows.
>>712710392AoE II's shared tech tree with different bonuses and exclusions works fine. The amount of units/building you can make is fairly extensive and most game fundamentals carry over. AoM is a good spin-off with a semi-asymmetrical approach, and then AoE III is more like an AoM spin-off.
>>712714293I just checked the store page, it runs with both DX11 and DX12 optionally, dunno if that was the case on release though, they might have gone back and enabled DX11 for it.
>AoE1 DEThe OS requirements are soft, the real lynchpin for whether you can start the game is the DX version, AoE:DE runs off DX11, so it'll run on Win7 just fine.
>release multiplayer focused rts
>fails
>release singleplayer focused rts
>fails
mayne the problem lies in the RTS part
>>712714708Sub-genres pretty much killed it like a band splitting up, but we're at a point where an RTS game could be made by kitbashing the subgenres back into a cohesive game, even if it would be fucking schizophrenic to actually play it.
>>712714708maybe it's a bad game retard. if you're even talking about something real
>>712714708It's an antiquated genre that no longer stands out enough to impress.
>>712714945This, the execution requirements are gatekeepy to disabled gamers, the characters aren't diverse enough for queer BIPOC gamers, the win or lose binary scenarios is just too sweaty and tryhard and not cozy at all
>>712714708>release singleplayer focused rtsI don't care much for tank/mechspam so I want medieval or fantasy RTS games, to my knowledge they're not being released aside from Spellforce III which I bought and AoE2DE+DLCs which I also have.
>>712653973This was my first RTS game. My friend lent it to me on and I went back home and installed on my desktop with windows 98. Right after that I played red alert.
I always smile when I see the robots drink beer.
